Every two weeks, Riot releases a new patch for League of Legends with some major balance changes. Will the balance changes of LoL Patch 14.2 have a huge effect on solo queue, though?

Top Lane Tier List: S-Tier Top Lane Picks Of LoL Patch 14.3

Top lane has quite a bit of variety, so we'll be talking about the best Champions to play in the top lane among all the viable champions!

3. Darius

Darius got a pretty big buff in patch 14.2. He is absolutely here to stay and decimating the top lane. He's currently sitting at a 50.49% win rate.

Triforce into Steraks Gage is his standard item build for now. After that, he only needs tanks items.

Power Spikes:

Darius is so incredibly strong early that you don't even really need items. Boots work excellent on him.

Darius struggles versus champions that outrange him or straight up duel him to death.

Good Synergies:

Darius works well with Junglers that bring either a lot of crowd control or a massive amount of damage.

2. Trundle

Trundle fits in very well in top lane at the moment. With Lethal Tempo and his AD stealing Q he can out trade most champions he has to phase. He can out-duelist Bruisers and is very good versus tanks as well. He is sitting at a 51.70% win rate and is our number 2. Trundle is known to be very volatile in lane, but cannot be left alone in the sidelane lategame.

For Trundle, you want to build Triforce first. This allows you to deal great damage to Objectives and enemy champions alike. His next item would be Ravenous Hydra for sustain, followed up by Hullbreaker.

Power Spikes:

Trundle already spikes with only a sheen. Get some plated steelcaps with that, and you can out-trade any AD champion that you are up against.

Trundle struggles against ranged champions.

Good Synergies:

Trundle works really well with AP junglers as his R removes a lot of magic resistance from his enemies.

1. Mordekaiser

Mordekaiser is the final boss of top lane and is sitting at a 51.57% win rate. Mordekaiser is known for his immense dueling power.

For Mordekaiser, you want to invest in Health and AP. Rylais into Riftmaker and Liandries are your best options. You can build tank items after that.

Power Spikes:

Rylais gives you a huge spike as enemies won't be able to run from you, but Riftmaker gives you more dueling power. Liandries first versus tanks.

Morde struggles versus strong melee duelists and Vayne.

Good Synergies:

Mordekaiser synergizes well with champions that have a lot of CC to secure his pull and single target burst.

Top Lane Tier List in LoL Patch 14.3: The Other Top Lane Champions

While the S-Tier Top Laners tend to be the best, there are still a lot of excellent picks in case these champions aren't available. Let's also have a look at some bottom-tier champions, which you should take note of and avoid!

The A-Tier Top Picks Of LoL Patch 14.3:

If you're not a fan of the S-tier picks, or they are banned, this is where to look. The A-tier champs are good but don't warrant nerfs, so they are usually about the same.

Champion Win Rate Pick Rate
Malphite 50.72% 5.8%
Fiora 50.72% 4.5%

Dr Mundo

51.95% 3.3%
Nasus 50.73% 3.7%

Nasus always works in lower elos.

Urgot is finally out of the lower tiers and is working quite well.

The E-Tier Top Picks Of LoL Patch 14.3:

If you want to win, just stay away from these champions, basically no point in playing them unless you're a one-trick.

Champion Win Rate Pick Rate
K'Sante 46.70% 5.6%
Renekton 46.64% 2.4%
Jayce 47.42% 2.5%

The Wind Brothers have been struggling for quite a while now.
