LoL Patch 13.9: Targeting Annoying ARAM Builds and Champions

Two champions that have been very annoying in ARAM are finally going to be getting some much-needed nerfs, but only on the Howling Abyss. On Summoner's Rift, Riot is not touching the champions for this patch. Maybe in the future though?

Riot has gotten into the habit of also making some ARAM balance changes, which is great for the game mode and keeps things fresh. They've now identified some outliers in the mode and are giving them some big nerfs.

LoL Patch 13.9: Ashe and Aurelion Sol Nerfed

Aurelion Sol and Ashe are both going to be getting some elongated cooldowns on some of their most annoying abilities.

Aurelion Nerfs in LoL Patch 13.9

Ever since his Comprehensive Gameplay Update (CGU) Aurelion Sol has been quite the menace on Summoner's Rift and especially on the ARAM map where players just can't seem to run away from his abilities.

One of the most annoying is his E, Singularity, which pulls players in and slows them, dealing damage. Overall, this is a pretty annoying ability, especially when there is limited space, so Riot is going to be nerfing the cooldown on it significantly for ARAM.

Ashe Nerfs in LoL Patch 13.9

Now Ashe is probably the bigger issue of the two. She has been a dominant champion in ARAM for a while now and even giving her -20 abilty haste to start of the match has not kept her from being one of the most oppressive picks in the game.

By simply spamming ability haste items like Imperial Mandate, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Manamune and Chempunk Chainsword she has become one of the best champions in the game mode. She simply has to spam her W, which in the later stages of the game basically takes up the whole lane, slowing her enemies and poking them.

Now Riot is going on the offensive to stop players from abusing this build in ARAM by increasing the cooldown on her W by a huge chunk, meaning she won't be able to spam her W over and over anymore.

Will this work or are ASol and Ashe going to continue to be obnoxious in the game mode?
