Control Mage, Assassin, Hyper Carry? We got it all in this Patch 14.14 Mid Lane Tier list.
LoL: Mid Lane Tier List For Patch 14.14
I searched through a lot of statistics, so you don't have to. This one is about the mid lane and let me tell you, the champion at the top of our mid lane tier list is actually just cracked right now.
The mid lane saw quite a few champion changes this time around, with the most hated champion – Zed – receiving buffs, while a multitude of pro-skewed champions were nerfed. So, will these changes impact your solo queue experience?
Let's go over the champions in the mid lane so you know who to pick and who to avoid at all costs in LoL Patch 14.14.
Mid Lane Tier List: S-Tier Mid Lane Picks Of LoL Patch 14.14
3. Vex
Vex is in our top three, sitting at a win rate of 52.55%.
Build:
You'll want to get Luden's Companion first and then get yourself some magic penetration with Shadowflame. Your third item can be situational, so you can go for Zhonya's or Rabadan's or even Cryptobloom.
Power Spikes:
She is best in the mid game since you'll be able to fight around objectives with her and also threaten globally with your ultimate.
Counters:
Ekko and Zoe are super annoying to play against. So it's best to just avoid them as Vex.
Good Synergies:
Nocturne is a fun champion to pair with Vex since their ultimates can be paired together and can wreak havoc on Summoner's Rift. Players can also go for a Poppy for some good solid support as well.
2. Sylas
Sylas is winning our hearts in LoL Patch 14.14 with a solid win rate of 51.28%. He's so high on the list thanks to the return of LeBlanc to the meta. No better way to counter her than with Sylas.
Build:
Pick up Lich Bane first. From there you should get Shadowflame and then a Death Cap. This is the strongest build with the most damage possible and will cement you as the strongest champion on Summoner's Rift. Thanks to Sylas' sustain, he also can't be killed when he's skirmishing.
Power Spikes:
Sylas might struggle early, especially when he goes up against ranged opponents, but once you're out of the laning phase, and he's got his ultimate he becomes very dangerous. That is when you roam the map to wreak havoc all over the place.
Counters:
The best champions to pick into Sylas are tough tanks in the mid lane who can out sustain him. Pick Gragas or Tryndamere and you won't have problems.
Good Synergies:
Sylas is a great pick with heavy skirmishers in the jungle. Pick Udyr, SKarner or Kayn and you will win any match up.
1. Naafiri
Naafiri is the best pick in the mid lane this patch. Honestly, she's doing amazing and with so few changes to the meta she will continue to dominate with her win rate at a whopping 52.74%.
Build:
Naafiri will want to go for Eclipse as her first item. The item will let her duel and fight with ease against her opponents. Once you've got Eclipse, you'll go for Profane Hydra next. This is especially great into tankier champions as well and give her a lot of fighting power.
Your third item is situational. Either go for Serylda's Grudge for armor penetration or choose Opportunity to be able to roam more efficiently.
Power Spikes:
Naafiri doesn't have the best early game, so make sure to stay under tower and farm. Once you hit level 6 and the mid game you're finally unchained. Then Naafiri will be able to roam the map and take down squishy opponents with ease.
Counters:
Garen is probably the biggest nuisance when playing Naafiri. He's just too tanky to take down, and his silence is also extremely annoying to play against.
Good Synergies:
Any junglers with AoE and CC abilities are welcome. So if you've got a Maokai or an Amumu in the jungle you'll be one happy doggo.
Mid Lane Tier List in LoL Patch 14.14: The Other Mid Lane Champions
While the S-Tier mid laners tend to be the best, there are still a lot of perfect picks in case these champions aren't available. Let's also take a look at some of the bottom-tier champions, which you should take note of and avoid!
The A-Tier Mid Picks of LoL Patch 14.14
If you're not a fan of the S-tier picks, or they are banned, this is where to look. The A-tier champs are good but don't warrant nerfs, so they are usually about the same.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
LeBlanc | 50.10% | 9.48% |
Zed | 50.40% | 10.73% |
Akshan | 53.11% | 2.50% |
Xerath | 51.07% | 3.35% |
Galio | 52.74% | 3.72% |
Hwei | 50.15% | 7.23% |
Aurelion Sol | 52.76% | 3.53% |
Cassiopeia | 52.85% | 2.10% |
In this patch we see the rise of Zed and LeBlanc. Zed got some buffs which have made him quite attractive once more and with Tristana getting nerfed, LeBlanc has the opportunity to shine again in solo queue. Along with Electrocute she's a very strong pick in the meta right now.
The F-Tier Picks of LoL Patch 14.14
If you want to win, just stay away from these champions, basically no point in playing them unless you're a one-trick.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
Ziggs | 47.20% | 1.46% |
Azir | 46.42% | 2.56% |
Ryze | 52.12% | 1.27% |
Kassadin | 49.98% | 1.80% |
Corki | 47.84% | 4.24% |
Jayce | 49.00% | 1.81% |
Corki is still much more popular in the mid lane than in the bot lane, even with Riot trying to make bot Corki a thing. Doesn't mean he's any good in the mid lane though.
Kassadin, Ziggs and Jayce should just be ignored and avoided in the mid lane. At least for this patch.
