Renata Glasc is the newest champion arriving to the Rift. Armed with a mechanical limb and equipped with dangerous Chemtech fumes and fragrances, Renata Glasc manipulates the battlefield in more ways than one.

In this article we'll be covering her Lore, specifically what makes Renata Glasc tick. If you'd like to learn her abilties first you'll find those details here.

Who is Renata Glasc?

So far we only have a biography to give us a peek into this exciting new story. But, the biography is more than enough to tell us that not only is Renata one of the most interesting champions to date, but she will continue to impact the lore in a big way. It's very likely we'll see her as an antagonist or important character in Arcane Season 2.

Diving into her biography we learn that Renata was not always rich. In fact, she was born to an incredibly poor alchemist family. Constantly haunted by poverty, Renata began to resent her parents for giving away their medical services for little to no cost to those who couldn't afford it. While generous of them, her parents were unable to feed and take care of Renata because of their charity.

When Renata came of age she joined the family business. However, she had no talent for alchemy. Instead her abilities were more well suited for business and "turning a profit". With Renata's help the family business quickly became profitable and caused it to start growing.

Despite now having a reasonable income, the Glasc family still did not use it to better their own lives. Instead they invested the money towards research on an incredibly powerful medicine. While the research remained fruitless, the Glasc's learned that those they used it on became extremely... suggestible. They would do anything you wanted.

Upon hearing about the Glasc's and their affordable medicine, corrupt Piltovans who profited off the poor and sick Zaunites started planning to stop it.

This scheming led Camille, the Steel Shadow and a team of enforcers down into Zaun to deal with the Glasc's for good. Left traumatized, Renata had lost her parents, her home and even her arm.

Determined to not repeat her parents mistakes and to avenge their deaths, Renata used the remaining research and her family's medicine to begin building herself up. She helped anyone she could, but not for free. If they couldn't pay her, she would demand their loyalty.

Eventually Renata had created a business, then an industry, then an empire. With her influence, she found the brilliant minds needed to complete her parents research and set them to work. Once they had finished the research Renata had a tool to control anyone she wanted.

Now Renata has sold this mind control to every wealthy Piltovan, and won the loyalty of every poor Zaunite. Renata is almost ready to take control of Piltover and Zaun, and perhaps the rest of the world.

How does her story affect her gameplay?

In game Renata has a large array of Chemtech weapons at her disposal. Ranging from rockets that shield allies and damage enemies, or a robotic arm that can force enemies to move where she wants. She even uses medicine to revive allies briefly after they die, giving them a second chance at life. But mostly importantly, her ultimate emits a wave of chemicals that force enemies to attack each other.

Whether by making enemies attack their allies, or physically moving them where you want, Renata controls the battlefield one way or another.

What else do we know about Renata?

She isn't out yet so we don't have all the details, but we know a couple things.
