After A Year Riot Is Finally Buffing Forgotten Champ in LoL Patch 13.14
Some League of Legends players have been begging for some help from Riot for their mains for a while. In LoL Patch 13.14 a small part of the community will finally have their wish come true thanks to some quality of life changes, but are these enough to make her a relevant pick?
We've seen how much attention the balance team can give a champion, with the amount of changes Zeri has received since her release in 2022, but now it's time for some other champions to receive love since Zeri has been officially killed in Patch 13.12.
Much Needed Zyra QoL Changes In LoL Patch 13.14
Zyra is a very unique bot lane champion. She doesn't do much healing or shielding, but she does deal good poke damage thanks to the amount of plants she has. The downside? These plants, as well as Zyra, are extremely squishy.
- Get a new League of Legends themed coffee mug to drink out of when your team is flaming you for having died 15 times in a row.
So, Riot is going to be making some much-needed changes in the upcoming patch to try and help Zyra out.
- Garden of Thorns (P)
- Plant Damage taken from AoE Spells: 4 >>> 3
- Plant Damage to Monsters: 150% damage to non-epic monsters >>> 40-100 bonus magic damage (scaling with level) to all monsters
- Rampant Growth (W)
- Seeds on first Rankup: 1 >>> 2
- Grasping Roots (E)
- [ADJUSTED] No longer locks out flash during the cast
- Stranglethorns (R)
- Cast Paradigm: Walk to Position >>> Cast at Max Range
- Missile Damage Update Cadence: 4/s >>> 16/s
These changes were outlined by Riot Phlox on Twitter and have fans pretty excited, but this doesn't seem like it'll be enough to help Zyra out of the tough spot that she is currently in. She's one of the least relevant support champions and has been for quite some time.
The added seed rankup is going to be great for Zyra's early game giving her a chance to help dominate the lane with more plants. Add in the fact that the plant damage taken has also been lowered, means they'll be more durable which is also going to help.
Her E adjustments mean that she can also escape sticky situations easier, like Morgana and her Q. You can now cast her E along with a flash which is going to be a good change, as well as the ultimate changes. These will keep her safer than before.

Zyra players have welcomed these changes, but they do believe that there is more work to be done and that Zyra is still going to be pretty weak.
Riot Phlox has agreed with them and he did explain that these are just some initial changes and that it's better to patch these than do nothing. So we can expect some more Zyra updates in the future.
Zyra Changes Delayed
Unfortunately for all the Zyra mains out there, these changes and updates will have to wait a bit longer. In the pre-patch notes for Patch 13.13, Riot did not have Zyra on the list, and Riot Phlox even stated that they're letting her cook a bit more and will have the changes ready for Patch 13.14.
