Briar Abilities: Everything You Need To Know
LoL Patch 13.17 with its changes, nerfs and buffs for several champions and items is in the books. But many players have only eyes for the release of the next upcoming patch, 13.18. And the reason is simple, the Patch 13.18 will finally introduce a new champion to the game, and it's an interesting one to say the least.
So, in this article we will tell you everything you need to know about LoL's freshest addition, Brair the Restrained Hunger.
Briar: Abilities & Reasoning Behind Briar
With Briar, the Riot Games developer team finally wanted to bring in another vampire champion and a fairly easy to play AD Fighter/ Assassin like jungler. Compared to other mechanical demanding Assassins, Briar will be the perfect champion for newer or more inexperienced players.

As you could expect from a vampire champion, her abilities and play style are built around her HP pool. Also, especially the healing aspect is a very important one in her kit. So, let's take a look at Briar and her abilities and how they work.
Briar's Abilities in League of Legends
Passive - Crimson Curse
The passive will be the most important part of Briar's kit for you, especially in one vs one fights and skirmishes. Briar gains increased healing based on her missing health. Also, basic attacks and abilities will are applying a bleed for a short duration, they also stack.
The bleeding deals additional physical damage based on the number of stack. Also, Briar heals herself for a percentage of the pre-mitigation damage. And take note: Briar possess no base health regeneration and like the other vampire champion, Vladimir, her abilities will cost health to cast.
Q- Head Rush
The q is the get closer ability in Briar's kit. When activated, Briar will leap to the target and stun them for a short duration. This will deal damage and reduce the targets armor. By the way, using this ability on a minion during the Blood Frenzy state, Briar will stop prioritizing champions.
W- Blood Frenzy/ Snack Attack
The W-ability is another get closer in Briar's kit. She will leap to a location and enter a Blood Frenzy, she will also self-taunt herself to the nearest enemy for a period of time. This ability normally prioritizes champions.
While in the Blood Frenzy state, Briar gains attack speed and Movement Speed and her attacks now deal physical damage around the main target. This means the W can also be used to clear bigger minion waves.
Also, Briar can reset this ability to empower her next attack. This attack will now deal damage missing health damage to the target and heal Briar for a large percentage of the dealt damage.
E - Chilling Scream
This is a charging ability within Briar's kit and needs to channel for a short duration of time. While beginning to charge, Blood Frenzy will be removed. During the charging process energy, damage reduction and Health restoration builds up.
When releasing the scream, damage will be dealt to all enemies in the area, and they get slowed for a short duration. When the ability was fully charged the scream will also knock back opponents and if they hit a wall, additional damage gets dealt and the target gets stunned.
R- Certain Death
Briar kicks a hemolith and flies to the location, where the first enemy champion gets hit and marks him as her prey. On landing, she deals a large amount of physical damage to everything and anybody nearby. This also causes enemies to Flee. She also enters an empowered Blood Frenzy and will hunt her prey until one of them dies.
During these actions, Briar also gains additional Armor, Magic Resist and movement speed.
All in all this sounds like an interesting champion to play, and we're sure that many players are going to like this new character. Her ability kit seems to be a mixture of Vladimir's and Vex' kit. Obviously it could turn out, that playing against Briar could be an absolute pain, since she seems to be easy to play and her abilities are promising a lot of damage, resistances and life steal.
So for all the ADC and mage mains out there, you better train your reflexes and movement, otherwise your life could become hell after Patch 13.18. It will be interesting to see, how Briar will fit into the game and the current meta.
