League of Legends: Riot Phreak Wants To Turn Aphelios Into Traditional ADC
Riot Phreak recently revealed some plans that could change the way Aphelios is played completely, but the community is not happy with these potential changes.
Aphelios is one of the toughest champions to master in the bot lane. With his different guns, it's key to know how to swap through them to get the perfect combinations for the best damage. But it seems that Riot has other ideas for the champion, wanting to make him more traditional.
Riot Phreak outlined what he wants to change on the champion, but the community is not happy with the suggested changes and hope that Riot don't follow through on the idea.
League of Legends: Will Aphelios Be Changed Before Worlds 2024?
Aphelios is a unique champion in League of Legends. A niche of players has enjoyed mastering the champion throughout the last few years and because of specific item changes and adjustments to lethality, throughout his existence he's gone from a traditional auto-attacking bot laner to a burst oriented champion who has to play around his combos.
Now, Riot Phreak has revealed that he wants to change the way Aphelios is played, making him a more traditional bot laner who weaves in auto-attacks as his main damage source, instead of waiting for the big burst of his abilities.
We actually aren't huge fans of the fact that Aphelios is kind of a caster right now. His primary build is E max second and rush Collector[...], and we'd really rather he be more of an auto-attacker and less of a 5,000 range burst mage weirdly.
While Aphelios did get some changes in LoL Patch 14.14, those aren't the ones that should change the champions' identity. Riot Phreak is aiming for changes either in LoL Patch 14.15 or 14.16.
Aphelios Mains Unhappy With Decision
While players on the general subreddit do think that Aphelios could be more fun as an auto-attacker, players from the Aphelios subreddit do not want his identity changed, with many thinking that the champion is more unique and fun the way he is right now.
Other players have also suggested not to make too many changes, but to give Aphelios some better attack speed, since some of his animations take extremely long, which leads to him not being built with auto-attacks in mind. So, to make everyone happy, Riot could make buffs to potential attack speed builds for him, instead of nerfing the "max E build" to hell and back.
If there are changes made to Aphelios will these be able to improve the champion's win rate?
