3. Thresh
Thresh is one of the best supports in the meta right now. He has a solid 50.23% win rate right now.
Build:
Thresh should prioritize Locket of the Iron Solari as his initial item, followed by Knight's Vow. For his next choice, he can opt between Frozen Heart or Zeke's Convergence.
Powerspikes:
Thresh is a solid choice in general, but his effectiveness increases as the game progresses, becoming tankier and more capable of surviving longer in fights. Right from level 1, his hook ability makes him an excellent lane bully.
Counters:
When playing Thresh, it's wise to steer clear of champions like Zyra, whose stuns and damaging plants can be troublesome. Similarly, Thresh tends to face difficulties against Renata Glasc and Taric as well.
Good Synergy:
Thresh pairs well with many champions, particularly shining alongside traditional marksmen such as Caitlyn or Jinx. His ability to hook enemies allows the ADC to freely attack the opponents. A perfect combo!
2. Leona
Leona is one of the best support champions in the meta right now. She's great early and has insane potential as an engage support, and with a win rate of 52.50% that's pretty obvious.
Build:
First, prioritize getting Warmog's Armor in the current meta. Once that's secured, pick up Locket of the Iron Solari and complete your build with Knight's Vow to ensure your bot laner is well protected.
For added security and to incorporate anti-heal into your kit, consider Thornmail as a third item. This will provide extra defense and counter any healing from opponents.
Powerspikes:
Leona shines brightest in the early and mid game. She’s got one of the best level 2 powerspikes, so look for aggressive plays to get your bot laner ahead. In mid game, group up for objectives and fights. Your ultimate is clutch for initiating team fights around this time.
Counters:
Soraka and Janna are top picks against Leona. They can outrange her and play from a distance, constantly healing and shielding their team. This can be super frustrating when you’re trying to dive in with Leona.
Good Synergy:
Leona pairs perfectly with Nilah or Jinx. Both champs excel in early game skirmishes, which is right up Leona's alley. Nilah, being a melee champ herself, is especially great at getting up close and personal with enemies, making her an ideal partner for Leona's aggressive playstyle.
1. Nami
Nami is one of the best champions in the game right now, and she is dominating the bot lane with a win rate of 51.91%.
Build:
Nami fits the enchanter role perfectly. Start with Imperial Mandate to enhance mana regeneration and add slows. Next, opt for Shurelya's Battlesong to significantly increase your teammates' movement speed.
For the third item, the choice can vary based on game conditions, but Ardent Censer is highly effective and advised when supporting an AD bot laner.
Powerspikes:
Nami reaches a significant power spike at level 6. Her ultimate unleashes a massive wave that can enhance her team's offensive capabilities or provide an escape route by boosting hit enemies. Coupled with her Q, she can create a stunning combo that immobilizes enemies for a prolonged period.
Counters:
Nami has a tough time against Shaco, as do most champions. His troublesome boxes can inflict significant damage, and his ability to turn invisible allows him to sneak up on you with ease.
Good Synergy:
Nami and Nilah make a formidable pair, capable of overpowering opponents in both close and ranged combat. This synergy ensures they are a potent duo throughout the entire game.
Support Tier List For LoL Patch 14.13
Now that we've covered some of the S-Tier champions in LoL Patch 14.13, let's take a look at where some of your other favorite champions stand. Which of these picks is your main?
Who Are Our A-Tier Support Champions?
The A-Tier is still considered excellent. These are champions that you can easily pick and still win games. They're the ones you'll want to choose when the S Tier champions are banned. So if you want to climb solo queue, then these are some picks you'll want to pick up this patch.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
Nautilus | 50.74% | 12.79% |
Poppy | 52.00% | 2.52% |
Zyra | 50.53% | 4.85% |
Braum | 51.36% | 4.88% |
Alistar | 51.54% | 5.63% |
Sona | 52.61% | 2.59% |
Janna | 51.61% | 3.96% |
Engage supports are dominating in LoL Patch 14.13. Sure, Sona, Janna, and Zyra are around, but tanks are ruling the meta right now. If Leona is banned, Nautilus is a great pick with awesome CC. Also, don’t sleep on Poppy—she’s one of the best and most overlooked supports out there.
Who Are Our F-Tier Support Champions?
These are the picks we advise you to forget about this patch. Either their win rates are abysmal or they were nerfed in the patch. So make sure to avoid picking these champions at all costs.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
Skarner | 46.22% | 0.60% |
Hwei | 46.36% | 1.97% |
Ashe | 46.38% | 2.14% |
Galio | 49.13% | 0.54% |
Pantheon | 48.31% | 1.84% |
Swain | 48.22% | 2.05% |
Especially low MMR players should not touch any of these champions. While picks like Hwei look fun, they're difficult to maneuver and take time to master. So please practice ahead of your ranked games.
Make sure to never be that cruel to your ADC to pick one of these, and you'll climb.
These are the best support champions in LoL Patch 14.13. What do you think? Did we place your fave champion too low… or maybe even too high?
