Watch out, fellow assassins! Naafiri will soon hit the live servers, but before she can eat the hearts of her enemies, she is spending a little more time on the PBE server. Now, Riot's design team have given her a few more updates to improve your gameplay experience with League's newest Darkin.

It is not a secret that many players are excited for Naafiri's release. Not only is she the first ever female Darkin in League of Legends, she was also introduced as an easy to learn mid lane assassin – two attributes that do not usually go well together, as evident by the ridiculously high skill floors of champions like Zed, Talon or Qiyana. However, her kit seems to hit the targets set by Riot's design team.

Just like her predecessors, Naafiri is currently living through a PBE cycle before she hits the live servers. This is obviously important to figure out if her balance is at least somewhat right and if she has any game breaking bugs. Player feedback is also taken into account as the design team tries to figure out if her kit is intuitive to use for everyone, and now she receives a few quality of life changes!

What A Good Girl!

In a list of updates shared on Twitter, LoL Champion Design Manager Stephen 'Raptorr' Auker explains the approach Riot wanted to take so that everyone can have the best experience possible with Naafiri. One thing that stood out as being a little too good was her wave clear – she almost one-shot caster minions at level 5! Now, her Q – Darkin Daggers has been hit with a damage amplifier that causes the ability to deal only 70% damage to minions. Her wave clear is still good, though.

Since she needs a little more room for spells to clear waves and annoy her enemies now, she has been given a bigger base mana pool as compensation. Mind that this does not make the Q change redundant, though – she still needs to decide whether she wants to eviscerate a minion wave or the enemy's health bar. Additionally, her attack windup – the time window in which you can still cancel your basic attack – has been increased in order to make her feel more in line with other champions. Neat!

More Changes That Will Benefit Her Packmates

Naafiri will now spawn more packmates, as her cooldown has been reduced and her cooldown refund for minion kills has been increased. Packmates will also no longer leave Viego hanging, should he decide to morph into Naafiri after taking her down. Who would do that to such a cute puppy, though? Viego surely would not break any hearts like this.

Her packmates will also no longer get teleported to Naafiri after her E – Eviscerate while they are still in their jumping animation from her W – Hounds' Pursuit. No more damage is getting lost! Also, Eviscerate will no longer stack Tear of the Goddess when Naafiri does not hit an enemy.

Naafiri is set to release on patch 13.14, which will drop on July 19. Her exact release date will be announced in Riot's official patch notes. Don't forget to pet her!
