Zeri Guide | Which Champions Counter Zeri and Which Champs Does Zeri Counter?

Zeri is the newest ADC in League of Legends and she’s been tearing up the rift ever since her release. She received an emergency nerf right off the bat, another one this patch and in the upcoming Legaue of Legends patch she will be weakened once more.

Riot releases broken champions? Never. Zeri is extremely unique and brings a whole new spin to League of Legends, so obviously she would be a bit hard to balance at first. She’s even seen light in pro play already, but this makes us wonder, when you lock in Zeri, who is the enemy going to pick? Or which situations will enable Zeri to have a great time? Let’s check out which champions counter Zeri and who you should play her into.

Which Champions Counter Zeri?

The following champions are the ones you should play whenever you see Zeri being picked on the enemy team. They have some of the best win rates against the new ADC and will enable you to win lane and eventually the game as you scale.

3. Caitlyn

Caitlyn has much better range than Zeri and with some attack speed she becomes an extremely lethal pick into Zeri. She can shred through the new ADC with ease and if Zeri isn’t careful and wall jumps into a Yordle Snap Trap she’s basically dead.

Caitlyn will be able to match Zeri in damage and speed, making her one of the few champions that Zeri players should avoid at all costs. So, if you see Zeri locked in, quickly pick Caitlyn so you can win the lane.

2. Vayne

Vayne is able to move just as quickly as Zeri, matching her step-by-step. This makes her a lethal pick into the new ADC. You are just as mobile as Zeri, able to dodge any oncoming attacks and let’s get real, Vayne in the late game is unmatched, not even Zeri can keep up.

With Vayne’s E she can pin Zeri down and quickly finish her off. Zeri mains won’t have a good time if you pick Vayne against her. Zeri has no defenses and therefore Vayne can literally two-shot her in the later stages of the game.

1. Twitch

Twitch is one annoyed sewer rat, but he is extremely great pick into Zeri. His invisibility lets him sneak up on her and make quick work of Zeri when she is vulnerable. Sneak attacks have never worked better and we suggest picking him into her at all costs.

In the late game Twitch is another nuisance who is able to make quick work of the squishy Zeri. Just sneak up behind her, poison her and then ult for the perfect combo. Zeri won’t be able to press Q fast enough to get away from you. EZ GG. 

Which Champions Does Zeri Counter?

There is a reason why Zeri received so many nerfs, right? She’s one hell of a champion and if we’re being honest, how many people actually play Twitch these days in solo queue? Exactly, Zeri might have a few counters, but she is insanely strong against quite a lot of champions as well. These are some champions Zeri loves to go up against.

3. Samira

Samira might be a fun and unique pick as well, able to switch between melee and ranged form with her blades and gun, not to mention her style mechanic really stands out, but she is going to have a bad time when going up against Zeri.

Zeri is faster, she also has better mobility in her kit. One jump over a wall and Samira will be quickly erased off the map. Samira won’t have time or space to gain any style points for her ultimate and will lose against a quick moving late-game champion like Zeri.

2. Ezreal

Ezreal is a similar champion to Zeri. He’s mobile and he is very skill shot reliant. His strongest phase in the game is the mid game, but Zeri is able to scale further than that. She is much more reliable in teamfights thanks to her charge.

Zeri will have a better time laning against Ezreal, and while she might stumble in the mid game, the late game is nothing to scoff at. One well-timed and landed ultimate and Zeri is off shredding through anyone – especially a squishy champion like Ezreal who won’t be able to escape her clutches.

1. Aphelios

Aphelios is interesting because he’s got so many options in his kit thanks to the multitude of guns he’s got in his arsenal. Does this mean he can win against Zeri though? Not at all. He is extremely immobile and Zeri, thanks to her movement speed, will destroy Aphelios.

So, while Aphelios has many options, he’s just horrendous when played into Zeri. She can evade his green gun with ease, meaning she will have the range advantage and in the late game Zeri can just ult and run all over the place. Does Aphelios stand a chance? Nope.
