Since patch 12.12, Riot Games have been showing our steam golem some love by carefully buffing him. However, in patch 12.19, it seems Riot has taken a more drastic step with Blitzcrank's changes.

LoL PBE Patch 12.19 | All Buffs and Nerfs

Blitzcrank is one of the OG's and has been a part of the squad from the very beginning. Since then, the champion has primarily been played as support but has also been experimented with in the mid and top lane. With the new changes on PBE 12.19, we could see Blitzcrank sneaking his way up to top lane and jungle.

PBE Patch 12.19 | Top & Jungle Blitzcrank Buffs

The upcoming changes on Blitzcrank offer a perfect opportunity to leave the bot lane and try out something different from what we are used to. With the new changes, you can aim at going either top lane by building him as more of a damage dealer. With his buffs on damage to non-champions, you could also try him out in the jungle. His W and Q already offer a nice opportunity to gank other lanes.

If you are a Blitzcrank Support main, you don't have to be sad about the upcoming changes as they aren't nerfing his abilities needed as a support, they are just generally making him stronger.

Base Stats	Base Attack Speed: Increased from 0.625 to 0.65 Attack Speed Ratio: Increased from 0.625 to 0.7
Overdrive (W)	Attack Speed: Increased from 30% - 62% to 40% - 92% Mana Cost: Increased from 75 to 85 Now deals 1% max HP magic damage on-hit while active, increased by 60 - 180 against non champs
Power Fist (E)	Mana Cost: Increased from 25 to 40 Now scales with 25% AP and increased by 150% AD + 125% AP against non-champions
Static Field (R)	Passive AP ratio increased from 30% flat to 30% to 50% No longer capped at 3 Stacks

When Can We Expect the Blitzcrank Updates?

The changes can currently be found in the Public Beta Environment (PBE) for Patch 12.19, and we can expect the changes to hit live servers on October 5, 2022.

It will be exciting to see if players believe in the off-role Blitzcrank or if we will keep seeing him in the bot lane, just stronger. But if you are looking for a new main for jungle or top lane and think this bunch of metal is a viable option for you, it is time to start practicing your skill shots!
