The LEC has already kicked off and we’re going into week 3 and there is already drama regarding rosters. Former G2 support Mikyx, who has expressed some dissatisfaction in how his replacement was dealt with by his former org, has found a new home in the LEC.

On January 25, 2022 Excel Esports announced the acquisition of Mikyx to their LEC roster, leaving their former support Advienne in the dust.

Excel Sign Mikyx

Mikyx has a CV like no other. He’s an MSI champion, a League of Legends World Championship runner-up and he’s the most loved player by Jankos. At the end of the 2021 season, G2 esports was revamping their whole roster and Mikyx didn’t fit into the future of the org.

He was left without a team and started the 2022 LEC season off basically jobless. Now he’s found a new home in Excel Esports, but to make room for this stories support player, another player had to be let go and that was Excel Esports support Advienne.

Excel Esports Miscommunication

Advienne went to Twitter to explain the support situation from his point. In the Twitlonger he explained that this was purely a business decision made by the organizations' management without so much as any discussion with the team members.

This decision was taken by the management only, without any open dialogue with my (now ex) teammates or any heads up to me prior to the decision already being made. This decision, as I’m told, is NOT made based on performance issues, motivation issues, issues with regards to my personality or anything in/out of game related. It is purely a business decision.

Advienne, though still under contract with Excel, is allowed to look for other options. He is a promising young star in the LEC and any team looking for a support should snatch him up quickly. Probably before the end of week 3 in the LEC, right? Each win counts!
