Fnatic and Rogue continue their rampage through the LEC, but they are only a game ahead of G2 Esports and Misfits Gaming, who also won their Friday games. Meanwhile, Team Vitality scored a decisive win against BDS - rumors of the superteam's demise may have been premature.

The LEC returns with week two of its spring season, featuring several high-profile match-ups. On Friday, the two big European teams of 2021 - Rogue and MAD Lions - will clash in the LEC's new big rivalry. Saturday, meanwhile, sees Luka "Perkz" Perković take on his former team G2 Esports.

Wombo Combo!

Friday's games kicked off with a match between Misfits Gaming and Excel Esports. The UK squad had better early objective control and their pick composition helped them get a small gold lead as well. With three early dragons, they were looking to get a quick hextech soul when a great teamfight by Misfits at the fourth drake turned the game around. Excel's attempt to steal  only got them aced and guaranteed the Misfits Baron. With it, the game was decided and soon, the rabbits had their third win of the season.

Astralis Worry Fnatic Fans

Game two featured Astralis looking for their first win against Fnatic. Sadly, the favorites were not in a giving mood, except when it came to Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov’s Zilean, who was throwing  his time bombs with stunning accuracy. Astralis capitalized on several overextensions and the bounty system to keep the game nearly even, and as it went on their poke became increasingly dangerous. However, around the 40-minute mark Fnatic got a catch on Oliver "Dajor" Ryppa's Corki and used the 5v4 advantage to end the game.

G2 Bounce Back with Win against SK

G2 Esports were eager for a win against SK Gaming to not slip away in the standings, but the German team made them work for it. The game stayed close in gold and kills until well into the mid-game, but G2's objective lead meant that 28 minutes in, SK had to contest the drake or concede a mountain soul. A great Bard ult by Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé blunted their engage, allowing his team to secure four kills, the dragon soul and the Baron. SK had no answer to this and were pushed in their base, where G2 finished them several minutes later.

The Bees Have a Sting

After a 0-3 week 1, Team Vitality rose to the occasion in their game against Team BDS. Perkz got an early double buff which helped his early game on Corki take off. Soon, Vitality was pressing their opponents all around the map. The end came when BDS rolled the dice and contest the mountain drake only to lose four. A mountain soul and a Baron was all the advantage Vitality needed to quickly close out the game.

Rogue Wins Derby with MAD Lions

Friday ended with one of the LEC's biggest new rivalries, as the yet-undefeated Rogue faced the 2021 LEC champions MAD Lions. After a less than inspiring week 1, Emil "Larssen" Larsson was on point with Victor and he and Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu on Camille were powerhouses in the mid-game. When MAD finally got a kill on the Camille 23 minutes in, they went for an early Baron and Rogue pounced, getting the fight and objective. Things kept getting worse for the champions and some ten minutes later, they had to concede their second win of the season.
