The beloved Spirit Blossom skin line is about to make a return to League of Legends, and we are all excited for the upcoming skins. However, fans were disappointed when it was revealed that URF is likely to return, once again, together in the Spirit Blossom event.

The featured game modes are something Riot offers in order to bring back old beloved game modes that were accessible in the past. These are only available for a limited period of time, and Riot Games decide which game mode will appear next. The featured game modes are often accompanied by certain League of Legends events, like Star Guardian or MSI 2022 High Noon. And the upcoming Spirit Blossom event will likely be accompanied by URF.

On September 20, 2022, Riot Games' Design lead Daniel 'Maxw3ll' Emmons revealed that URF would return to PBE this week for testing. Because Spirit Blossom is the next even to hit live servers, we can assume that URF will come out together with the event.

In the comments of the announcement, a lot of fans did not hold back on their disappointment. Fans have lately had the feeling that only a few of the many featured game modes are being brought back to League of Legends. The ones usually recurring are URF, One-for-All, and Ultimate Spellbook.

In response to the fan's complaints, Riot Maxw3ll had this to say:

[W]hat people say and what people play are very different. The PvE modes are cool at first but fall off super hard, and bringing them back isn't just flipping a switch. We have a limited bandwidth of events we can bring back, so we bring back the ones players enjoy the most.

Many players assumed Nexus Blitz would make a comeback together with the upcoming event, as both the game mode and Spirit Blossom is Iona inspired. However, this will most likely not be the case, as we are once again reintroduced to one of the more common game modes, URF.
