Kim "Malrang" Geun-seong: A lot of eyebrows were raised when Rogue chose to recruit the Gen.G substitute jungler to replace their superstar Kacper "Inspired" Słoma, but he was key in Rogue getting 9-0. Even after being somewhat exposed in the game against Astralis, he rebounded well. Before the season, we had not expected Rogue to be the top team this season and their jungler is one of the major reasons why we were wrong. | © Riot Games

3. Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik: Probably the best player on a Schalke squad that pretty much disintegrated last split, Broken Blade was seen as a risky pick to replace Wunder . However, he has worked very well, becoming a reliable point of power for G2 in the top lane. All G2 newcomers showed up, but BB did it better than anyone else.| © Riot Games

2. Markos "Comp" Stamkopoulos: After a breakout in the ERL as a young bot lane prodigy, Comp spent two years in a Team Vitality stuck to the bottom of the table. While he was seen as one of the better players, it wasn’t until his move to Rogue that we saw just how good Comp could be. The Greek has big shoes to fill - Steven "Hans sama" Liv was Rogue’s star AD carry coming off a great Worlds performance - but he has stepped up. © Riot Games

Honorable Mention: Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov - It may feel like cheating to put one of the LEC’s top support players as an overachieve. however, this split, he seems to be even better - more reliable in the teamfights, giving away fewer deaths and bringing his usual aggression, even on the likes of Zilean or Renata Glasc. © Riot Games

1. Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié: Vetheo was seen as a capable newcomer to the mid lane when he made his LEC debut last spring, but this split has seen his meteoric rise to the top of the league. We expected Misfits to maybe - barely - make playoffs. Instead, Vetheo led them to a third place in the regular season with some amazing performances and is next to guaranteed the season’s MVP trophy. © Riot Games
