LoL Worlds 2023 Finals: T1 vs WBG - Our Expert Prediction

News 17-11-2023 09:30

Sunday is the long awaited day: The champion of Worlds 2023 and thus the current best team in the world will be crowned. While many fans expected Gen G vs. JDG, we now have two rather unexpected teams instead.

Will history repeat itself, and can T1 become the champion for the fourth time? Or will TheShy finally reclaim the title after five years?

In this article, we present our prediction and explain our reasoning.

16 Games, 5 Losses, 11 Wins. In total, 20 Points, which averages 0.8 points out of 2, resulting in a power level of 40%.

In general, this means that T1 appears more consistently dominant in their games. It's also worth noting that T1 faced stronger opponents.

One interesting aspect of WBG is that when they are ahead, they tend to dominate their opponents.

Individual Player Skill

In my opinion, the T1 Semifinals were heavily influenced by Faker, Keira, and Gumayusi. If Oner and Zeus perform well, T1 will be an unstoppable force.

For WBG, TheShy had some outstanding performances, and Xiaohu has shown consistent performance as always.

The members of T1 have the highest win rate at Worlds (no surprise) and also boast the best KDAs, with Gumayusi leading at 8.8 KDA and Keria at 7.3.

Who Will Win The Finals?

It may not come as a surprise, but I believe that T1 will once again emerge as the World Champions. Weibo Gaming has experienced both highs and lows, but considering how T1 played versus the first LPL Seed, I don't think the 4th seed of the LPL stands much of a chance.

The chances, objectively speaking, stand at 61.7% to 38.3%

However, I believe that T1's chances lean more towards 80%. It all depends on the form the players will show on Sunday.
