This time, the new event will work differently
Old Nightbringer Chromas Likely Not Returning With New Skins
Earlier this month, Riot have announced the release of a new set of Dawnbringer vs Nightbringer skins. Seeing as the Nightbringer theme is nothing new to League of Legends, with the last one being in 2021, there are a few questions fans are asking themselves.
The main one, of course, is whether the new event will lead to the old chromas becoming available once again, as was the case with other returning skin themes.

Are Old Nightbringer Chromas Returning?
Chromas are limited-time event skin add-ons changing the color scheme of new champion skins. They are bought in bundles and are only available during said events, so the demand far outweighs the supply.
However, to make their fans happy, Riot tend to allow players to purchase older chromas during events that share the same skin theme. And the newest upcoming one is the Dawnbringer vs Nightbringer skin theme.
Unfortunately for the fans of this battle for the ages skin theme, if we take all facts into account, it is likely that the old Nightbringer chromas won't be available for purchase once again.
The reasoning behind this conclusion is simple:
- There are only four skins being released
- The skins will have eight chromas, instead of the usual nine for an event skin theme
- The Inkshadow skin theme will have seven skin released, with chromas yet to be announced
Taking all of this into account, it's obvious that the upcoming event will not center around the Dawnbringer vs Nightbringer skin theme. Instead, the focus will be the Inkshadow skin theme.
After all, last year we had two large skin dumps preceding events, with the High Noon event we had in May, and the Spirit Blossom event in September, both of which had a large number of skins, and a Prestige edition. None of which are present in the Dawnbringer vs Nightbringer skin release.
