It was recently revealed by BigBadBear that the upcoming Monster Tamer skins might be just around the corner. Well, now Riot has released which skins will follow up the 'huge' Star Guardian summer event and it's none other than the Monster Tamer skins, but they might be a bit different than how you'd imagined them to be.
While the Star Guardian skins are inspired by shows like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, but we are also going to be getting some more 90s anime-inspired skins in 2022 with the Monster Tamer skins. Who hasn't always wanted to have their own Pokémon or Digimon, right? Well, now you can have a best-friend on the rift!
Which Champions Will Receive Monster Tamer Skins?
Riot revealed three champions on their official Twitter to be getting Monster Tamer skins. Janna and Ezreal were not a part of the bunch though, which has upset some fans. But, if we're being honest, these upcoming skins do look kind of cute though, right?
- Monster Tamer Lulu
- Monster Tamer Kog'Maw
- Monster Tamer Veigar
Honestly, who would have thought that the day would come when I call Kog'Maw adorable, but this skin does it really well. Sure, he looked more like a monster rather than a monster tamer, but that's why Lulu is his trainer in the splash, right?
Veigar is also a pleasant surprise and out of all of them he seems to fit the best into this whole AU. Pretty surprising, but this is a breath of fresh air after the amount of 'sexy' anime skins we've been getting. These give off the right amount of 'children 90s anime' vibes. And trust me I know I just re-watched Beyblade the other day.
Need more anime in League of Legends? We've got you covered:
How Much Will the Monster Tamer Skins Cost?
These skins are all Epic tier skins and will cost 1350 RP. Riot understands that we have spent enough cash money in recent times with two legendary skins during the Star Guardian event and with more legendaries in the works, apparently. Do note, that Riot is hiking up prices for RP in August, so make sure to pick up some extra RP ahead of the price changes.
Will There Be a Monster Tamer Event?
With the Monster Tamer skins releasing right after the big Star Guardian event, there will likely not be any actual in-game event. Riot could choose a small event like the Eclipse event which was just a few missions in the client. Though, we do not think this will actually take place.
Senna did have an Eclipse Prestige Skin this season, but there is no prestige skin amongst the Monster Tamer skins, so we don't think that there is going to be any event. The next big event we will likely have is something surrounding the Steel Valkyries skin line according to leakers.
When Will the Monster Tamer Skins Release?
The Monster Tamer skins, according to leakers, will be released after the Star Guardian event. This would mean that the skins will be released in LoL Patch 12.15. So, don't worry these skins are out before the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.
Will you be picking up Monster Tamer skins in 2022 or will you wait to spend you precious RP on other skins? When will Riot finally release a new Ultimate Skin on the rift to spend our money on? Hopefully soon, I would love an ultimate Yuumi skin for sure.
