It isn't a LoL World Championship without some bugs, right? Well this one was spotted and it could impact future games as well.

Bugs in League of Legends are nothing new. The thing is, when you encounter these bugs in your simple little Silver games nothing is really on the line other than a bit of LP. Encountering these bugs at the League of Legends World Championship is another level completely though.

It seems that infamous bug finder Vandiril has pulled out all stops once more, this time uncovering a pretty insane bug with our favorite mid lane chameleon, Neeko.

Spell Shields are meant to protect champions from incoming attacks, right? Some champions like Sivir or Nocturne possess innate shielding abilities, while others can get them through items like Banshee's Veil and Edge of Night. Unfortunately, it seems that there is a simple counter to these Spell Shields that are meant to block one attack and that is Neeko's ultimate.

Vandiril has shown on Twitter how KT's mid laner  Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong utilized Neeko's ultimate in Weibo Gaming's base. Weibo's ADC Wang "Light" Guang-Yu quickly used Sivir's Spell Shield to try and block the ultimate, only to have his health halved.

Of course, no video game is perfect and there do tend to be some bugs and issues. Also, if a team does not notice a bug in the moment, then they are not able to contest the outcome of a game. A similar situation happened at the 2022 League of Legends World Championship where Top Esports bot laner Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo had the passive of his Maw of Malmortius malfunction.

Of course, teams are given a set of bugs and issues with the game which Riot is aware of. They will have to play around these issues and are not able to call for a pause when they do happen since they were informed of them beforehand.

On the other hand, newly introduced bugs and issues can be cause for pause. It seems that this Neeko bug was either unnoticed in the moment or something the teams and Riot know about. Vandiril did go and show how the bug happens in regular matches as well.

For now it seems like this is going to be a bug that teams have to somehow play around, with Riot not looking to disable Neeko just yet.
