After a mediocre start to the regular LSC season with 5 wins and 5 losses, Team Liquid has announced a player swap for the upcoming match against Immortals.

The currently 4th placed TL will change their mid laner, due to lacklustre performances. This was announced on the franchise's Twitter page.

Team Liquid Replace Mid Laner

For the upcoming match against the last placed LCS team Immortals, Team Liquid has announced a player swap on the mid lane. According to a statement on Twitter, starting player Harry "Haeri" Kang will be replaced by Eain "APA" Stearns.

Eain has demonstrated incredible development during his time in our NACL roster, and we're excited to demonstrate his potential. We encourage our fans to support APA on his LCS debut.

Regular mid laner Haeri stated on Twitter:

Sorry to my teammates and fans for my recent very poor performances. I will be stepping down and taking some time for myself and i will come back stronger. But please support APA tomorrow

It would be interesting to know if this player swap was an action initiated by Haeri himself, as he indicates by saying "stepping down" or if this was a decision by the org and the team.

The reaction amongst the fan base are mostly positive. Several Reddit users pointed out the weak performances of Haeri and welcome the mid lane changes. For example the user "ReallyF33linglt" wrote, "Heari's consistently been the weakest link in TL. A change had to be made."

Other users, like "dreamcafemint" don't look that positive into the future:

I hope the language barrier isn't a issue, iirc pyosik and summit's english aren't that good altho summit has eng comms exp. Surprised that the change came so fast but there also isn't much time left. Things must have been really bad for them to get rid of their all korean comms.

It will be interesting to see, if TL's performance is increasing in the next couple of matches. The upcoming Match against Immortals is a compulsory victory.
