5. Trần "Bean J" Văn Chính: Saigon Buffalo’s jungler ended the VCS spring split with the most MVP points in the regular split and was a key factor in his team's rise to prominence. While Saigon Buffalo are the sole team at MSI who did not win their championship - they lost the final against GAM Esports, who will play in the Asian Games - seeing the Vietnamese league once again represented at international events is a treat. | © VCS & Riot Games

4. Yan "Wei” Yang-Wei: Back in 2020, Wei became infamous for not picking smite in a pro match, but RNG's jungler has made huge progress since then. Both of his solo laners - Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin and Li "Xiaohu" Yuan-Hao deserve commendation, Wei's heroics in the playoffs are a huge reason why RNG lifted the LPL cup. 3. Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong: The T1 has not had the easiest time fitting on the team and has been sidelined several times, but this season, he was on fire. Gumayusi broke the record for most kills in one LCK split, scoring 219 - ten more than Ruler had previously managed. Rasmus "caPs" Winther: After G2 failed to win either split or make Worlds in 2021 and ended outside of the top 3 in the regular split this year before losing to Fnatic in the first playoff series, fans worried whether Caps was losing his touch. The G2 superstar proved them wrong, however, delivering a banger after a banger against a who's who of LEC mid laners for a 12-0 run that ended with G2 taking the cup. Caps was on fire in Europe and we want to see him to the same at the MSI. | © Riot Games

1. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok: With his career, Faker would have earned the GOAT title long before this split. That did not stop him from leading T1 on a rampage through the LCK as they won 20 series one after the other and went 6-1 in the playoffs. Now, the Demon King is back at MSI, and he wants his crown. The spring season is over and it's time for the first major international event of 2022 - the Mid-Season Invitational. With 11 of the best teams in the world, we can expect great games and some equally great drama. T1, after going undefeated this season, look to raise the cup in front of the home crowd. Royal Never Give Up returned to the LPL throne and are ready to defend their 2021 MSI crown. G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses, both coming off dramatic runs through the lower bracket, are set to face off in the Play-in to give us more of that sweet EU vs NA rivalry. The cream of the all minor regions is here as well. MSI is a contest where champions face off and only one team can win.

With so many elite teams, there are many players to be hyped for. Here are our top 5.
