On July 8, 2022 T1 took on Gen.G. Both teams fighting for the number one spot in the 2022 LCK Summer Split. There was one more thing on the line though for the captain and mid laner of T1 and that was his 500th win in the LCK.

Having a perfect split under his belt and being the winningest player in LCK history is nothing new, we've all heard the stories over-and-over, but now he was looking for another milestone. Would he achieve it against a tough opponent like Gen.G who have been T1's toughest adversaries?

Gen.G vs. T1 - A Rivalry Like No Other

Gen.G has been the most dominant team in the LCK in the summer split. They hadn't lost a single match yet, cruising against other tough teams like DAMWON KIA who have recently reunited with former top laner Nuguri, strengthening their team dynamic ahead of the summer split.

The final test though would be Gen.G's game against T1, the team that beat them in Spring 2022 to take home the orgs 10th LCK trophy and a berth at the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational on home soil. But for T1 and Faker there was more on the line.

While Gen.G took the first game with ease, gaining a lead early on and building it out, not giving T1 a single moment to breathe, they couldn't hold off the onslaught that came in game 2. T1 took the game in the same dominant fashion that Gen.G did earlier, leaving the series open and headed to a deciding game 3.

Of course, a series between Gen.G and T1 wouldn't be any fun with just a dominant 2 - 0 victory for either side, right? Faker vs. Chovy. Peanut and his resurgence in the LCK, as well as Ruler vs. Gumayusi, are some of the best story lines the LCK has to offer this season so a 3-game Bo3 is what the fans want to see.

Out of all the games, the third was the most even. Both teams were close and if Gen.G would have had a bit more time to scale, then they could have taken the game, but T1 won the mid-game fights and rushed the enemy's base to take the victory.

Faker Has 500 Wins in the LCK

Faker is the first player to hit 500 wins in the LCK. The closest player in terms of wins is none other than Deft who lags behind with a whopping 371 wins. Third on the docket is none other than Gen.G's ADC Ruler who has 341 wins in the LCK.

This is a huge moment for the mid laner, cementing his spot once again as the most dominant player in the world. While he did have a few 'bad' seasons in 2017 and 2018, he has since made a resurgence with his new team in 2021 and has become the carry of T1 once more.

Faker continues to dominate the League of Legends scene and hitting the 500 win milestone shows just how insane of a player this man truly is. Now, T1 and Faker will have to keep playing at this level to be able to make it to the 2022 League of Legends World Championship in North America. He's already won 2 World Championships in NA... can he make it 3?
