If you think something has been missing in your life as a DAMWON KIA fan, then it's probably been Jang "Nuguri" Hag-won. The young top laner spent a year in China and took half-a-year off professional League, but it seems he's ready to play once more.

Ahead of the 2022 Spring Split, Nuguri announced that he would be taking some time off professional League of Legends due to stress and burnout. The one-year on FunPlus Phoenix seemed to have stressed the young player out. Not surprising after their group stage exit at the 2021 World Championship

[Update April 20, 2022]

DAMWON Confirm Nuguri's Return

DAMWON KIA have just confirmed the return of their former top laner Nuguri. The 22-year-old will be the starting top laner for the 2020 World Champions.

After spending a year in the LPL and taking the Spring Split off due to anxiety, he's recovered and will return to his former team. Will this be the change that DAMWON KIA need to make it back to the finals in the Summer of 2022?

Nuguri Will Play in the LCK in Summer

Accoridng to Korizon esports, Nuguri will be coming back to his former team DAMWON, now named DAMWON KIA. In 2020, he, along with ShowMaker and Canyon – who are still on the team – managed to beat Suning to bring the World Cup back to Korea.

While he sat out for the first half of the year, he will likely come back for the 2022 Summer Split. That is what Korizon is reporting.

DAMWON KIA, managed to make it to playoffs in third place, but eventually lost in a best-of-five to Gen.G, failing to make it to the finals of the 2022 LCK Spring Split. It was a close series, but it seemed that Canyon wasn't able to solo carry his team to victory against Gen.G.

When Will Nuguri Play?

As already mentioned, Nuguri is likely going to be playing in the 2022 LCK Summer Split. An exact start date for the Summer Split has not been announced yet by Riot Games, so we're going to have to stay patient.

The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational will end May 29, 2022 so we can expect the LCK to kick off mid or late June. So, for any DAMWON KIA fans out there, it's time to get hyped for Nuguri to make his return to pro play. Maybe this is the kick they need to make it to the 2022 LCK Summer Finals and the 2022 World Championship, right?
