Rogue still undefeated after close victory against Team Vitality
Fnatic End Week 0-2 After Loss to G2 Esports
Rogue remain on top of the LEC with a 7-0 score after defeating Team Vitality. Fnatic, meanwhile, suffered their second loss for the week - and the season after a heartbreaking loss to G2 Esports.
With the likely top 6 teams clashing against each other, Saturday's LEC games had many fans salivating. The undefeated Rogue taking on a Team Vitality that finally found their groove. 2021 LEC champions MAD Lions facing off against a Misfits Gaming team that nearly took down G2 on Friday. G2 Esports taking on old rivals Fnatic - we expected some bangers and the LEC delivered.
BDS Defeat SK for a 2-0 Week
Once more, the newcomers of Team BDS would start the day. They had a very strong early game against SK Gaming, taking several early kills and objectives that gave them a 3K gold lead just 15 minutes in. The German team found no way back into the game and were pretty much spectators as BDS secured a mountain soul and a Baron before going for the kill.
0-7 and Counting
We did not expect much from Astralis and sadly they did not exceed those expectations. The team struggled in their game against Excel Esports, bleeding objectives as they slowly slipped behind. Excel's bad luck at Baron struck again as Nikolay "Zanzarah" Akatov stole the first one from under their noses, but it only prolonged the game by a few minutes for Patrik "Patrik" Jírů's Jinx to ramp up. Excel allowed no more surprises and used the second Baron to take all three inhibitors before ending the game.
Misfits Bounce Back against MAD
Misfits Gaming had a narrow loss to G2 on Friday and they came out against MAD Lions with something to prove. With their early aggression and good jungle and support coordination, they quickly got ahead and kept pushing their advantage. An early Baron solidified their control over the map and left MAD with no way back as Misfits scored their fourth win for the season.
Will Somebody Stop Rogue?
We had high hopes for the clash between Rogue and Team Vitality, and the two teams delivered. Kim "Malrang" Geun-seong's Volibear would once more roam well to give Rogue and early lead, but Vitatlity stayed close, getting several kills on Luka "Perkz" Perković’s Leblanc. The game was even until a key skirmish 26 minutes in where Rogue AD Carry Markos "Comp" Stamkopoulos got two kills and helped his team secure the first Baron. With it, Rogue broke into the enemy base and by the time they were wearing the purple buff again, Vitality could not hold them back.
G2 Win Showdown with Fnatic
The match of the week and final game of the day featured old rivals Fnatic and G2 Esports. A good early game by Fnatic gave them an early lead, but as the game went on, G2 managed to punish them several times and bought time for their champions to scale. Eventually, what looked like a sure kill on Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik turned into two kills for G2 as they punished the engage. Fnatic eventually rolled the dice at the Baron, securing it only to get aced in return and lose the game. Only one seek after they were tied with Rogue at 5-0. they now share second place with G2 at 5-2.
