Rogue are undefeated and Astralis are winless
Rogue Defeat Fnatic to Remain on Top of LEC
It took three weeks, but Fnatic's undefeated record was broken after a deserved loss to a Rogue running on all cylinders. Meanwhile, Team Vitality once more looked on point, Astralis is still winless and Excel and Misfits Gaming almost managed to pull upset wins - but almost was not enough.
Another Rough Start for Astralis
Team BDS and Astralis kicked off the day and although both squads are on the bottom of the table, the game did not looks close. BDS got an early lead and kept pushing it with a stellar early game from Jakub "Cinkrof" Rokicki’s Diana, who had six kills in the opening 20 minutes. BDS' better dragon control resulted in an early infernal soul and they never lost control of the game, winning in just over 30 minutes.
MAD Win Scrappy Game vs Excel
The second game saw Excel Esports and MAD Lions face off. The 2021 champions started better, but Excel kept the gold close and had better scaling. MAD finally started extending their lead in the mid-game, when Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batalla stole a Baron and soon after the team secured a Hextech soul. However, a risky baron call nearly lost them the game after Excel capitalized. The game came to an Elder dragon fight, where İrfan Berk "Armut" Tükek's Akali managed to flank Excel and exploded Erlend "nukeduck" Holm's fed Veigar. MAD got an ace and they took the base for a much-needed win.
Vitality Is on a Roll
Team Vitality outclassed SK Gaming in the third game for an expected win. Luka "Perkz" Perković was once more set for a strong early game after taking a double buff in an early fight. The gold difference kept growing and twenty minutes in Vitality chased SK in their own jungle, aced them and got the Baron. SK had a moment of hope after nearly acing their opponents in a desperate base defense. It was not to last - Vitality's next attack smashed the Nexus.
Rogue Factor
Rogue started strong against the other 5-0 team Fnatic, with another great early game from Kim "Malrang" Geun-seong on Viego and Emil "Larssen" Larsson on Twisted Fate. Fnatic's game revolved around their powerful bot lane and they kept the game close despite the kill deficit. However, at the 24-minute mark a series of kills for Rogue resulted in them securing the Baron. They pressed their advantage relentlessly, eventually defeating Fnatic in their own base to remain the only undefeated team in the LEC.
A Game of Throws
Friday ended with the closest game of the day as G2 Esports took on Misfits Gaming. The 2020 champions started very strong, getting three kills in the opening five minutes and focusing Shin "HiRit" Tae-min’s Gwen. With a big gold lead and an ocean soul for G2, the game looked decided. Then, however, they made several mistakes and Misfits capitalized, even getting an Elder dragon and the second Baron. After taking two kills in the mid-game, they nearly ended the game only to get aced in the enemy base. With a second chance to win, G2 ran down the mid lane and took the Nexus before all the respawns came.
