Yeehaw!
Hecarim Update On PBE Patch 12.17
Hecarim isn't in the best state right about now. He isn't finding a place in the meta and his win rate has dropped down to an abysmal 48%. Sure, Lee Sin and Ryze still have worse win rates, but is that really company you want to keep when it comes to League of Legends?
So, what is Riot going to do to fix this issue? The last time they buffed Hecarim he was meta for a solid 6-months. Therefore, the balance team is going to explore some new options with Hecarim to see if they can shift his power into different abilities to alter his build style a little. Will these changes succeeed though?
PBE Patch 12.17: Hecarim Bruiser Build Buffs
Hecarim can either be played as an assassin or as a full on tank. These builds haven't been working though, which is why Riot is going to take some power out of Hecarim's E and taking away the burst and exchanging that with more power into his Q.
Hecarim Ability | Changes on PBE 12.17 |
Rampage (Q) |
|
Spirit of Dread (W) |
|
Devastating Charge (E) |
|
Onslaught of Shadows (R) |
|
With these changes we can see that his Q is going to work much better in elongated fights due to the power being added into the stacks. Therefore, you'll want to gain stacks to do more damage as Hecarim. This is going to make him a much better skirmisher and fighter in the jungle.
Hecarim Update Release
This Hecarim update will come right in time for Worlds. According to the official League of Legends patch schedule, LoL Patch 12.17 is going to hit live servers on Thursday, September 8. The patch is likely pushed back a day due to Labour Day which is always the first Monday of September (unless that's a Canadian thing...).
So, get ready for some Hecarim action. Will these changes mean that he is going to be meta for the coming months or will this make little to no change in Hecarim's build and play? Let us know on our Discord!
