In League of Legends Patch 13.4, Riot introduced a new chat system which has some players making huge mistakes in their games that could cost them the win. That's whys ome players have gone to Reddit to discuss whether the new way of chatting in LoL is well done or should be forgotten.

Party Chat is a new introduction in LoL Patch 13.4 and was meant to make is easier to communicate and banter in LoL, but has it really served its purpose?

League of Legends Party Chat Implemented in LoL Patch 13.4

Riot added in a new Party Chat in LoL Patch 13.4 which will let players either communicate with their team or in all chat. Players will have to toggle between the different chats to be able to switch who they're talking to.

This system has caused some confusion for some players who will be writing in all chat and bantering, then forgetting they're in this chat and giving up crucial information when writing to their teammates. It seems that this issue has happened to multiple people already since the release of LoL Patch 13.4.

In the new chat system, players are able to either use all chat, team chat or party chat, if they are in a premade group. You can toggle between them by either clicking on the chat symbol before sending a log, or by simply pressing tab before typing in the chat.

Now some players seem to not notice which of the three chat's they're in and sometimes give away valuable in-game information by accidentally typing in the all chat.

One player on Reddit wrote:

I’ll switch to all chat to banter with the enemy team then I’ll forget that it stays in all channel and accidentally give away vital information. In my last game, I told our A Sol to teleport backdoor as our minions were at their nexus and it went to all chat, their Urgot backed and ended up saving the game

Others have also explained that you can simply use shift and enter as shortcuts to use all chat and just the enter key for team chat. This is probably just a system players are going to have to get used to, but for long time LoL players it'll take some time before they get used to the chat toggle.

Hopefully this won't have too much of an impact on the game in the future as players adjust to the in-game changes Riot is making to try and better the quality of the game, but was this chat toggle truly worth it?
