Ahead of their match against NongShim REDFORCE and the start of the LCK playoffs, Dplus KIA has swapped coaches. The franchise reacts this way, due to a mediocre season in which the team currently ranks on the fourth position with ten wins to 6 losses. According to the org, Challengers Head Coach Bubbling will take over.

Dplus KIA Swaps Coach Acorn for Bubbling

The LCK franchise Dplus KIA has officially swapped coaches. According to the organizations Instagram, Headocach Choi "Acorn" Cheon-ju will leave the main roster and take over the coaching duties of the DK Challenger team in the LCK Challengers League.

Meanwhile, DK Challenger Coach Park "Bubbling" Jun-hyeong will take over the main LCK roster.

Acorn has been part of the org since November 2022. He previously coached other LCK roster like KT Rolster, LGD Gaming and Kingzone DragonX. He can look back at a career which started in 2012. He is best known for his player role in teams like Samsung Blue and LDG Gaming.

Bubbling has started his coaching career back in 2019 and coached teams like Dragon X and Dragon X Academy, DAMWON Academy and its descendant DWG Academy and DWG Challengers, with a short stint for the DWG KIA main team. Since January 2023, Bubbling was responsible for the DK Challengers team.

He was also a pro-player at one point in his career and played for the CJ Entus roster as a jungler.

It will be interesting to see, if Bubbling is able to get the best out of the highly talented DKplus roster. With stars like Su "ShowMaker" Heo or Gunbu "Canyon" Kim, the team has to be a favorite for the LCK title this season. Even tho, they had a rather mediocre season so far.

Just two matches, against NongShim REDFORCE and Hanwha Life Esports, are left before the start of the playoffs. So Bubbling has at least some chances to impact the performance of his line-up.
