Patch 11.21 brought a plethora of system changes with items and runes being buffed, nerfed, and adjusted all over the place. The Riot Devs have just shared plans for the upcoming League of Legends Patch 11.22. It's looking like this time around, we'll be seeing a lot more of individual champion changes rather than systemic ones. Are you excited for any of these changes?

Quality of Life Changes in LoL Patch 11.22

As of 10/29, Riot have shared some exciting last minute news about LoL Patch 11.22. In the tweet linked below, Riot August shares that they have decided to ship out some small changes for Vi to make her gameplay smoother.

Vi Adjustments

Q Changes

  • Q Knockback Duration: 0.7 to 0.75
  • Dash Range now extends up to 50 units when going over a wall.
  • Distance traveled and damage dealt are now based on exact channeling time instead of every 0.25 seconds.
  • Targets will now get knocked back immediately upon contact with Vi.

R Changes

  • Knockup Duration: Varies between 1.25-1.49 seconds to 1.4 seconds.
  • R connects with the target at the exact moment they're in range to be hit (used to check range every .25s)
  • Both the targets knock-up and Vi's self-stun during her ult animation now have consistent durations rather than varying between casts.
  • Vi's ult knockup will take effect once she is 300 units from her primary target instead of varying between 0-300 based on 0.25 second intervals.
  • Nearby enemies in Vi's ult path will get knocked back immediately upon contact with Vi

So all in all, a ton of quality of life changes for our friend Vi coming up in LoL Patch 11.22! These have been needed for a long time, I'm sure that Vi's winrate among her OTP's will increase a lot. However, she still struggles from the same issues that she always has in regards to balance. It might be a while before we see Vi in meta, regardless of these changes.

Champion Buffs in LoL Patch 11.22

Here is the list of champions set to receive buffs in LoL Patch 11.22. As of now, we don't have the exact list of changes but we'll make sure to update the article with them as soon as they're released! We’re not looking forward to seeing Riven buffs...

  • Renekton: Revert of Recent Ruthless Predator Changes (W Stun from 1s to 1.5s)
  • Riven: W - Damage: 55/85/115/145/175 to 65/95/125/155/185, E - Shield Ratio: 100% to 120%
  • Rhaast (Red Kayn): Q AD ratio: 4%/100 AD to 6%/100 AD, R Max HP ratio: 10% to 15%
  • Akali: Passive Damage: 29-170 (+40% AP) to 35-182 (+55% AP)
  • Kalista: E Ratio: 60% to 70%
  • Varus: E Ratio: 60% to 90%

Renekton has been struggling greatly over the past couple of months. Riot have finally taken notice and are giving him a buff that should pair nicely with the upcoming buff to Goredrinker. This champion really needs Goredrinker to thrive, so when it got nerfed along with Conqueror and Ravenous Hunter - it made Renektons winrate tank even harder. Hopefully our favorite Crocodile can make a return to meta before too long!

Champion Nerfs in LoL Patch 11.22

Here are the champions slated for nerfs in LoL Patch 11.22. Some of these champions have been notable outliers at Worlds 2021, which is likely the reason for them getting nerfed. Specifically, Qiyana/Graves/Yuumi have all been extremely high priority picks at the event. Have you seen more Yuumi's on the rift than usual?

  • Qiyana: Base Stats - HP: 590 to 520, HP/lvl: 90 to 110. Q - Damage: 60/85/110/135/160 (+90% bonus AD) 50/8to 0/110/140/170 (+80% bonus AD), E - Damage: 50/80/110/140/170 (+70% bonus AD) to 50/90/130/170/210 (+60% AD)
  • Graves: Passive - Pellet Crit damage: +30% damage to +20% damage
  • Kha'Zix: Q - Ratio: 130% bonus AD to 115% bonus AD, Iso Ratio: 273% bonus AD to 241.5% bonus AD
  • Yuumi: E - Move speed ratio: 10%/100 AP to 6%/100 AP, Heal: 70/105/140/175/210 (+40% AP) to 70/100/130/160/190 (+35% AP)
  • Maokai (Support): Passive - Max HP heal: 7-15% to 5-15%. W - Damage: 70/110/150/190/230 to 60/100/140/180/220

Kha'Zix and Maokai are on this list due to their win rates in solo queue at all levels. Kha'Zix is just too good in many situations and has been an S+ Tier Solo Queue Champion throughout the past few months. The bug assassin could use a bit of a reduction in power. As for Maokai, it's a similar situation. His solo queue winrate is so high due to his kit being hard to beat without good communication. The area denial he has is already really strong, but that combined with his point and click hard CC makes this champ a solo queue monster.

System Changes in LoL Patch 11.22

System Buffs - Goredrinker

  • Health: 400 to 450
  • Omnivamp: 8% to 10%

Riot haven't been so bold as to revert all of the nerfs that they literally just gave Goredrinker in Patch 11.21. Regardless, reading through the comments on the Riot Dev twitter post was tough. Several high elo players and content creators are extremely upset about Riot's decision to buff an item that was so dominant for multiple patches. These don't seem too impactful at first glance, but Omnivamp as a stat is extremely difficult to balance... Will this item become OP again soon?

That’s it for the planned changes which will hit Summoner’s Rift in the next update. Patch 11.22 will likely bring about an interesting new meta with all of these changes, we're excited to see what new champions will become viable!

When is LoL Patch 11.22 Going to Release?

Riot have teased some new skins for champions featured in the upcoming netflix series: Arcane. These are likely to drop along with Patch 11.22, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
