Exciting!
MSI 2023 Group Draw: How to Watch
We are about to watch the Mid-Season Invitational, one of the most significant events in LoL Esports, unfold, and we cannot wait! But first, we must figure out which teams will face one another in the official Group Draw show.
The MSI 2023 is closer than ever, and with only two more teams left to qualify, we soon know who will face each other off at the beginning of the tournament. The tournament will be an excellent opportunity for teams to get a feel for their competition from other regions outside their own before the World Championship at the end of the year.
However, before the MSI 2023 action begins, we must figure out who will play against each other. As usual, you can watch the MSI 2023 group draft show and we are here to tell you how!
MSI 2023: New Format
This year, we will see a brand new format for the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational divided into two rounds. The first round will contain eight teams drawn into two groups of four. The two groups will play a double-elimination bracket, each match being a best-of-three.

The top teams of each group will then move on to the next stage. The last team to qualify for the second stage will be the winner of the "Last Chance Qualifier" match, where the two winners of the lower-bracket run from each group face each other off in a best-of-five battle for the final spot.
The second stage will then contain the three winners from the first stage, the top two seeds from LCK, and the top first seed from the LPL, LCS, and LEC. The LCK already has two teams qualified for the second stage of the 2023 MSI due to winning the League of Legends World Championship 2022.
MSI 2023: Teams Qualified For Group Play-In Stage
Eight teams will be competing during the MSI play-in stage. For play-ins, teams from every region besides the LCK will compete for the three spots available for the second stage. Here are the teams qualified for the play-in stage:
Region | Team |
LPL | BiliBili Gaming |
LEC | G2 Esports |
LCS | Golden Guardians |
PCS | PSG Talon |
VCS | TBD |
LJL | DetonatioN FocusMe |
LLA | Movistar R7 |
CBLOL | LOUD |
The VCS and LEC will decide their final teams qualified on April 23, 2023, where both regions are playing their Spring Finals on the same day.
When Is the MSI 2023 Draw Show?
The draw show for the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational will take place shortly after the LEC finals on April 23, 2023. The LEC finals will occur at 12 pm ET (4 pm GMT). After the LEC finals are over, the final participant for the MSI will be decided, and the group draw will take place.
Because the LEC finals are a best-of-five series, it is difficult to say precisely when the draw show will take place, so make sure to keep an eye on the LEC Spring Split Finals to avoid missing anything. Due to LEC being the last team to qualify, the draw show will also likely take place in Berlin at the LEC Studio.
