Zeri Nerfed in B-Patch

Zeri has been a menace since her release. She’s skating all over the map and honestly, it doesn’t matter whether you play her in the bot lane, mid lane, top lane, hell even the jungle! She works everywhere on the map once you got used to her unique mechanics.

So, because she is so powerful and such a good pick, Riot had to nerf her in a b-patch. What was nerfed and why though? Well, let’s get into the details of this hotfix b-patch 12.02!

Which of Zeri’s Abilities Was Nerfed?

Her ultimate was hit with a nerf. To be more precise, the on-hit interaction of her ultimate paired with one specific item – Runaan’s Hurricane – was nerfed in this b-patch and will make playing against Zeri much more bearable… hopefully.

Before the hotfix, whenever Zeri had her ultimate active she'd released chains of sparks that acted as on-hit effects. So when you pair this with Runaan’s Hurricane which shoots out little missiles without targeting anyone, as well as other items that have on-hit effects Zeri pops off.

What did Riot do to nerf this then? Well, it seems like as of b-patch 12.02 these on-hit effects will not trigger on sparks. Hurricane won’t spread the on-hit to untargeted opponents anymore either.

This is the official nerf from the patch notes: 

• While Zeri is Overcharged after landing R - Lightning Crash, the chain lightning on her empowered Q - Burst Fire will now proc only once per attack, rather than as an on-hit effect (like it previously would on Runaan's Hurricane bolts)

Other Champions Adjusted in B-Patch 12.02

One other champion has been impacted by the B-Patch and that is Janna who was doing some insane slowing thanks to an interaction bug with Glacial Augment. Basically, the keystone along with her ultimate sometimes bugged out, slowing for far longer than intended.

This bug has been fixed in the b-patch, so Janna mains won’t be able to abuse this anymore, but they can still enjoy Janna’s full power since her update in League of Legends Patch 12.01. She’s looking like one of the best supports in the current meta. Will she be surpassed by the upcoming new support though?
