Arcane Season 2 Is Coming But Later Than Fans Hope
Arcane Season 2 has been one of the most highly anticipated series for a while now. The first season showed everyone that when the right people are working on a video game adaptation, then anything is possible. But now it's been a year and a half since the first season released and fans want to know when they can dive back into the world of Runeterra.
Recently, a bunch of high-up Rioters went to China and Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent spoke to LPL caster Gian Ze Yuan. In the interview Arcane was also brought up. Obviously.
Arcane Season 2: New Release Date Info Revealed
It seems that Fortiche and Riot are hard at work, trying to emulate the same magic that Arcane season 1 brought with the second season. Not only were League of Legends fans enthralled, but even viewers who knew nothing of Runeterra fell in love with the world and characters.
Now, it seems that part of the second season is already done, but there is still a long way to go according to Laurent, who explained that the team is working hard to bring forth the same quality season 1 had.

Not only that, but he also stated that production of season 2 could have started earlier, but with Riot not knowing how well the series would do, they only began once the first season concluded on Netflix.
[...] we didn't know if Season 1 was gonna be a success… If I had known we could have started Season 2 way earlier, but we didn't know so we kind of waited a bit and so now we're paying the price, so it's unfortunately not going to be this year.

Laurent did explain that before coming to China, he just watched the third episode of Season 2, so we know that there is already quite a bit of content out there, but it seems that it's still a ways off from actually releasing.
So, anyone hoping for a 2023 release will have to go back to their delusions, because it seems like Arcane Season 2 will be ready in 2024 and if things go awry, maybe even 2025.
