Arcane was a huge success back when it was released, and we can't help ourselves to be hyped for what else the next season of the award-winning series has to offer.

After six years in the making, the fans finally got the show they all had been waiting for, and despite the long wait, we are pleased with the results. Even people that had never heard of the League of Legends world were captivated by the series, and now we are all just waiting for the next season.

The first season premiered on November 6, 2021, and almost a year after its first release, we are beyond excited to see what else Riot Games and Fortiche have to offer for Season 2. Arcane has also managed to build up quite an expectation by winning nine prizes in the Annie Awards and winning at the Emmys for Best Animated Program

But what do we actually know about the next season so far? Which character will return for the next season, and when can we expect season 2 to come out? We are here to give you all the must-know information about Season 2 of our beloved show, Arcane.

Arcane Season 2: Release Date

Unfortunately for all the fans out there, Riot has not yet given any official release date for the second season of Arcane.

The makers of Arcane already put a lot of love into season one, and it took a total of six years for the series to be created. There is also a lot of expectation added for Season 2; therefore, we assume the writers and producers will take their time on this season as well. Because let's be honest, we don't want another Game of Thrones final season moment.

The series' animation studio, Fortiche, creates its unique animation style by mixing 3D and 2D animation with an interesting technique. Unfortunately, this technology could also result in the series taking a bit longer to create.

Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent also recently revealed that the first three episodes have been finished, but that there is still a lot of work to be done, so we cannot expect Arcane Season 2 to release in 2023.

Arcane Season 2: Location

The world of Runterra has so many exciting places to explore. Still, for now, we hope you aren't tired of Season one's scenery, as it was recently confirmed on the final episode of Bridging the Rift that Season 2 of Arcane will also take place in Piltover and Zaun

The two cities are mirror images of one another where Piltover depicts a flourishing city with a good economy, strengthened by its technological advancement in academia. However, on the other side of the coin, we have Zaun - a city whose inhabitants live in chemicals but still have a thriving society of its own.

It is still unknown if we will exit these two cities for Season 2, but looking at the abrupt end of Season 1 and with some acquired lore knowledge, we believe there is a chance we will also enter Noxus in the next season.

Arcane Season 2: Plot

Because of the abrupt ending in Season 1, some questions still need to be answered, which we predict will play a big part in Season 2.

We already left Season 1 seeing the beginning of Jayce and Viktor's story. According to LoL lore, the two characters will have a deep falling out, eventually developing into a rivalry between the two scientists.

Also, as we mentioned, we believe Noxus plays a big part in Season 2, and we might even be introduced to the visionary ruler of Noxus, Swain.

Another character we believe will become an essential character in the upcoming season is Singed. In the final Singed scene of Season 1, we can clearly see him working on Warwick (whom many believe to be Vander). We believe Singed will play a big part next season because of his LoL lore. If you have already read it, you might know how big of an influence Singed had with everything happening in Runeterra, so it would be safe to assume that he will also play a big part in Arcane as well.

Even though we already have a ton of  LoL lore available, we cannot predict everything. The Arcane writers do everything they can to make the story as thrilling as possible. Amanda Overtone, one of the Writers in Arcane, had this to say about the creation of the plot for Season 2:

The other blessing and curse for me and Alex is, we're never satisfied and we always want it to be better. So, no matter how much you think you might know about whats coming in Season 2, there is always going to be tons of new stuff to discover.

Arcane Season 2: Cast

We can assume that most of the cast from Season 1 will return for Season 2 as well. This means Jinx, Vi, Ekko, Caitlyn, Jayce, Viktor, Heimerdinger, and Singed will presume their previous roles.

As we already mentioned, Swain will likely play a vital role next season, because of all the talk about Noxus in Season 1.

Some fans also speculate that one of the newer LoL champions,  Zeri,  will appear on the screen because of her close relationship with Ekko. So maybe she will be a part of the Firelights?

All in all, the opportunities for which characters will join us for Season 2 are endless, and for now, all we can do is speculate. To mention some fan theories of character appearances, we have the possible arrival of the Black Rose and Leblanc and the possibility of having Camille join the squad as well.

Who do you think will join the second season of Arcane? Maybe we will see some of the other Plitover / Zaun show up, like Blitzcrank and Twitch.
