Riot is finally adding in a brand-new PvE game mode to the League of Legends client. The mode has been extremely well received and it's not even out on live servers yet.

Riot Games is bringing a brand-new experience to League of Legends. It's been years since players got to play a PvE mode, but in 2024, Riot is bringing it back in style, thanks to the hard work behind-the-scenes.

The new mode, Swarm, has made its way to the Public Beta Environment with great success. Even before, all players get a chance to try their hand at this bullet-hell game mode.

Swarm is the brand-new PvE mode Riot has been working on. There are multiple weapons, maps and champions that can be played and for the first time in League of Legends history, players can use the WASD keys to move their character. Crazy.

Lead Designer on League of Legends, August "August" Browning, revealed on Twitter/X that Swarm was played over 1 million times within the first few days of it being on the PBE. This means that the developers have received a lot of data, which is going to be great for the mode when it finally hits live servers in LoL Patch 14.14

One of the key issues are bugs that can occur, which could ruin the mode and the fun. Thanks to all the games played, the balance team has been able to identify a multitude of bugs. Not only inside the game, but also in the client, there were some bug fixes that the team has identified.

Not only that, but the balance team has also been able to adjust the power balance of certain champions, with some nerfs hitting Leona and Yasuo early on, while also adjusting cooldowns of certain champions.

Between July 1 and 8, Riot will be on vacation, meaning there shouldn't be anymore big updates in this week. So we're going to have to be a bit more patient to see what Riot is going to be fixing ahead of the big release on July 17, 2024.
