Project L: All Confirmed Champions
Riot confirmed some of the emerging champions which will be included in the new fighting game Project L. Are you ready to find out if your main is going to be playable? In the following, we will introduce all the confirmed champions.
Recently, some of the upcoming champions in Project L were confirmed through X (aka Twitter) by Riot Games.
With continuous announcements of Project L champions and updates, fans of tag-team fighting games are getting really excited about this one, especially because the game is going to be free-to-play. Below, you'll find a list with all confirmed champions for Riot's next combat game.
List Of All Confirmed Project L Champions
- Yasuo
- Darius
- Ekko
- Ahri
- Jinx
- Illaoi
- Katarina
The first four champions listed, Yasuo, Darius, Ekko and Ahri, recently got a short gameplay preview. Each champion is introduced with a unique and fitting fighting style. Curious? Don't worry, we've got all the details for you!
Yasuo – The Unforgiven
Yasuo is one of the most popular champions in LoL. He is a master swordsman, fighting by manipulating the wind to his advantage.
He will be a versatile character, using tools for offense as well as defense. He seems like a complex and quick fighter that can create feral combos, slashing his opponent in the air. So let's hope that he at least doesn't run it down in a 2v2 fighting game. Will we get the 0/10 powerspike?
Darius – The Hand of Noxus
Darius is a bulky and strong top lane fighter entering the fray of the League of Legends game.
While he may appear slower than champions like Yasuo, he compensates with devastating and merciless strikes delivered by his giant axe. Operating within mid-range, Darius adopts an extremely offensive approach, inflicting chip damage that wears down his opponents. Similar to his playstyle in League of Legends, he embraces an all-or-nothing mentality, either going hard or going home.
Ekko – The Boy Who Shattered Time
During the Riot X Arcane event, it was confirmed that Ekko would be included in the roster of champions for Project L.
Ekko is a young inventor from the undercity Zaun. By turning back time, he is a tenacious opponent who is capable of delivering powerful chronostrikes and reversing the damage inflicted upon him within that timeframe. With this unique ability and his timely projectile to get out of mid-range complications, it seems tough to punish him correctly.
Ahri – The Nine-Tailed Fox
Ahri is one if not the most important mascots of Riot, getting a huge spotlight in the first League of Legends cinematics, right from the start.
Not only that, but she is an iconic mage who can channel the magic of the spirit realm. With her elegant and agile playstyle, she attacks her enemies from all angles. By unleashing her foxfire, she applies a ton of pressure until she grows tired of playing around with you and finishes you off.
Jinx – The Loose Cannon
Unlike the earlier champions, Jinx, Illaoi, and Katarina haven't received a new gameplay trailer yet. Nevertheless, we've caught glimpses of them in previous gameplay teasers of Riot Games for Project L.
Since Jinx was one of the main protagonists in the Netflix series Arcane, it makes total sense that Riot includes her in their new fighting game. Just like Ahri, she is currently one of the main faces of Riot.
Different to Yasuo or Darius, she specializes on long-range combat and her flame chompers as projectiles. She also seems to be a really fast, but also fragile character.
Illaoi – The Kraken Priestess
We've already seen Illaoi in some earlier gameplay trailers, too.
She comes across as an incredibly strong character, kind of like Darius with a robust vibe, smashing her opponents using those creepy tentacles of hers.
Katarina – The Sinister Blade
Sadly, we've almost seen nothing about Katarina yet. However, we got a brief peek at her gameplay in Riot's 10th anniversary video.
There we saw her demonstrating her 'Blink' ability, a quick dash teleporting towards her opponent.
Regardless, we didn't get to see much more gameplay footage about her. But let's stay hopeful that we get to see more about her and other champions in new gameplay trailers by Riot Games.
