It wasn't too long ago that the Riot dev Twitter account told fans the harsh truth and why Nexus Blitz, though promised, did not make a return to the League of Legends client in 2022. But it seems that the team is working on finally adding some variety to the client again.

Riot used to have some of the best event game modes out there. It gave variety and was fun for players to enjoy, but the last few years fans have become sick and tired of the same three or four game modes, over and over. This could change for 2023 though.

LoL Data Mine Finds Potential Nexus Blitz Files

SkinSpotlights, has found some interesting things added to the PBE files. One of those things was a script, which mentioned Nexus Blitz, added. In the script it says 'Nexus Blitz Shop Keeper' which could mean that we are going to finally be getting Nexus Blitz in 2023!

Though you shouldn't get your hopes up just yet, since Nexus Blitz was promised to players for 2022 but Riot did not manage to bring the game mode back, due to the files being corrupt in some way and the team working on rebuilding them, as previously explained.

But, with the most recent set of Tweets from the Riot dev account, as well as them announcing a blog post on game modes soon, we could see the modes team start working on some new and improved game modes in League of Legends.

ARAM Changes Were Top Priority

The modes team has been working on improving and spicing up ARAM. Those changes have gone live in LoL Patch 12.23, which means that the team can now focus on bringing back Nexus Blitz, or even make new unique game modes.

Bringing back Dominion or Twisted Treeline as a rotating game mode is something the community has suggested before, but if these map files have also been tampered with it could be difficult to bring them back. For now, we can just guess, but thanks to the data mined files from SkinSpotlights we can be pretty hopeful to see Nexus Blitz at least once in 2023.

Sometimes I think this company is one big joke and all we get is some shitty ARAM changes and these boring modes urf and arurf. Sad, so sad.
