Each and every day we are thirsting for more information and news on the upcoming LoL MMO. The world of Runeterra is vast and with every bit of information out there we try to piece it together like deranged conspiracy theorists.

One thing that many have been wondering about is the involvement of Champions. Will we see Ezreal, be able to talk to Braum and finally beat the living sh*t out of Fizz or Master Yi in some way, shape or form?

LoL MMO: Will We Fight Champions in the Game?

There are so many great champions in League of Legends and seeing them involved in the upcoming Riot MMO would be incredible. Unfortunately, we have no real information yet and nothing has been confirmed whether we can fight and battle them in the upcoming game.

Greg Street, EP of the Riot MMO project was just recently asked on Twitter whether champions are going to be added into the game as some form of dungeon boss or other creature we can fight. Greg Street's answer? Rather diplomatic, but what else do we expect? Him to leak the entire game? No, we need to get those breadcrumbs ourselves to try and get an image of what the game could be like.

We want to treat the champions with a lot of respect. I’m not saying you will never fight any of them, but we aren’t just going to turn to them anytime we are short on boss ideas.

So, what does this mean for all of us who hope to finally beat up Rek'Sai or kill that annoying Kha'Zix? It means that the MMO team for Riot isn't just going to add in random bosses into the game just because they are champions in League of Legends. The bosses and monsters we fight have to make sense for the game and the world.

Creature Design in the Riot MMORPG

As previously mentioned, much of the world and story in the upcoming MMO is well underway thanks to the League of Legends card game Legends of Runeterra. Similarly, many of the creatures we are going to encounter in the Massively Multiplayer Online game will also hail from the card game.

But the creatures we've encountered in LoR aren't enough according to Greg Street who explained that there will be even more added into the game and that the team is working hard on making new and unique creatures that will fit seamlessly onto the world of Runeterra.
