LEC Action starts when?
LEC Summer Split 2022 | Scores, Teams & More
The LEC is one of the most popular League of Legends leagues, ranking only behind the LCK in viewership. So, of course, we're all waiting impatiently to know when LEC action will kick off once more. Thankfully, Riot has revealed when fans can look forward to the LEC Summer Split.
The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational will have its finals on May 29, 2022, so shortly after teams will have to return to their home regions to prepare for the Summer Split and a chance to qualify for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship. When will the final chance to qualify for Worlds kick off in the LEC, and who is competing? Let's look at everything we know about the LEC 2022 Summer Split.
2022 LEC Summer Split Team Standings
The LEC has adopted the franchise model, like the LCS and the LCK have. This means that teams cannot be relegated from the LEC anymore, and only if a team sells their slot can new teams be added to the LEC. Ahead of the 2022 LEC Spring Split, Schalke 04 sold their spot in the LEC to Team BDS, and now, Misfits Gaming is selling their LEC Spot.
These are the ten teams competing in the 2022 LEC Summer Split:
Standing | Team | Win - Loss |
1. | G2 Esports | 12 - 6 |
MAD Lions | 12 - 6 | |
3. | Rogue | 11 - 7 |
4. | Misfits | 11 - 8 |
5. | Excel | 10 - 9 |
6. | Fnatic | 10 - 9 |
7. | Vitality | 9 - 10 |
8. | Astralis | 7 - 11 |
SK Gaming | 7 - 11 | |
10. | Team BDS | 3 - 15 |
At the end of the Spring Split 2022, G2 Esports finished in fourth place, but in the LEC Playoff bracket they managed to build momentum, cruising through the lower bracket with ease, to take the crown in the 2022 LEC Spring finals, becoming the 2022 MSI LEC representatives.
