League of Legends just began its new season, and with it, we got a total of three videos meant to hype us up for the new year. In one of the videos, the League Developers talked about their future plans for the game, though events and the rotating game modes were not mentioned. Now, league developer Reav3 explains why.

Even though some players' main motivation to play League is to climb the ladder, some LoL fans just want to have fun with friends playing games from the rotating game modes, like URF and Nexus Blitz.

Therefore, many League players were disappointed when events and game modes were nowhere to be mentioned in the League of Legends Season 2023 | LoL Pls Video. These players feel like Riot is only focusing on the competitive part of League, leaving the players who just want to have some fun hanging. It was only last year that Riot Games did not release Nexus Blitz for the Spirit Blossom Event, even though they had said it would return in the past.

After someone shared their unhappiness on Reddit, LoL's Lead Gameplay Producer, Ryan 'Reav3' Mireles, responded to the criticism.

The game modes team recently moved from PIE back to the gameplay initiative. We were re thinking the teams goals and mission back when these were recorded so didn’t want to discuss anything at that moment. We have since done that and should have an update on modes sometime early this year.

It looks like, even though the topic wasn't discussed in the video, Riot Games still has some plans for the upcoming game modes. We are all excited to see what they have in store for us and hope that some of the long-awaited game modes can make a return in 2023.

What are your biggest wishes for the LoL 2023 Season?
