The top three teams extended their lead over the rest of the LEC with wins on Friday. Rogue had little trouble against Astralis, while Fnatic and G2 Esports also won their matches and now have a two-win lead over their closest competitors.

The LEC is already in its fourth week, offering the top teams a chance to extend their lead. Rogue will be facing off against Excel Esports and look ready to continue their winning streak. G2 Esports is set to follow suit with a game against Team BDS. For Fnatic, meanwhile, things look a bit more serious - can they recover from their 0-2 week with a victory against MAD Lions or will their slump continue?

Clutch Shockwave Dooms Astralis

SK Gaming did not have an easy start against Astralis and fell behind early. However, they managed to catch their opponents several times and nearly equalized the game. Then, 26 minutes in, Daniel "Sertuss" Gamani had a huge shockwave on Orianna that demolished Astralis, giving SK a clear route to the Baron. The eventual ocean soul was the final nail in the Astralis coffin and ensured they would get a 0-8 start.

Easy Eighth Win for Rogue

Rogue took to the Rift in the next game, amassing an early lead in their game against Excel Esports. Excel were able to keep the game close a while and had a way to win with early dragons, but a poor engage 19 minutes in saw them aced. Rogue took the reins of the game and needed just a few more minutes to end the game.

Diana + Yasuo = Ouch!

Misfits Gaming were not afraid to go aggressive against Team Vitality, getting two early kills on Matúš "Neon" Jakubčík’s Jinx. The superteam quickly recovered with strong laning, however, and turned the game around with a big Diana-Yasuo wombo combo 18 minutes in. Misfits kept getting pushed back and even an ace in defence of their base did not help them recover.

Hail to the First Blood King

Game four featured G2 Esports taking on Team BDS. From the opening minutes, G2 took over as jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski set up his top laner for two early kills and took over the map. BDS tried to slow the game down, but they could not keep up. G2 made few mistakes and won the the game slowly, but decisively - giving their jungler his 300th career win.

Fnatic Defeat MAD

The last game of the day was the one we were most excited to see - the strong Fnatic facing 2022 LEC Champions MAD Lions. Fnatic had managed to shake off last week's poor form and came out swinging this game, taking several early kills in the opening minutes and getting their AD carry "Upset” Lipp’s Aphelios to a 3-0 start. The team remained in the lead for most of the game and this was the decisive factor 31 minutes in as they barely weathered a flank by Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batalla’s Gwen, winning the teamfight 4-2 and ending the game soon afterwards.
