League of Legends Patch 12.21 is going to be a pretty small patch, and likely the last one ahead of the 2023 preseason. So, with a final chance of getting some LP to make it into gold, what can you expect from the upcoming LoL patch?

Of course, we cannot overlook the newest champion K'Sante who has made his way onto the rift with this League of Legends Patch, but a few champion changes have also made their way onto the live servers. Let's go over everything in LoL Patch 12.21.

K'Sante Revealed on LoL Patch 12.21

K'Sante is the next League of Legends champion who is going to shake up the way we play in the top lane. Riot has announced some big top lane changes in the upcoming season, but K'Sante alone will already make a big dent. At least playstyle wise, since no champion seems to be like him from what we've seen.

K'Sante Abilities

K'Sante's abilities are interesting and make him a pretty mobile tank. He's able to shield his allies and be the front line everyone needs, but what makes him unique and stand out from other tank champions is that he's got the potential to be the main character of a fight thanks to his ultimate, which turns him into a fighter, draining his health and defensive stats, turning them into AD and Omnivamp.

So let's quickly go over his abilities so everyone knows what they're dealing with when it comes to K'Sante in LoL Patch 12.21.

AbilityDescription
Passive - Dauntless Instinct
  • K’Sante’s damaging abilities mark enemies hit for a short duration. Attacking a marked enemy consumes the mark to deal damage plus max health physical damage.
  • All Out: Attacking a marked enemy instead deals physical damage and additional max health true damage.
Q - Ntofo Strikes
  • K’Sante slams his weapon, dealing physical damage in a small area around him and briefly Slowing targets hit. If an enemy is hit, K’Sante gains a stack for a short duration. At 2 stacks, K’Sante instead fires a shockwave that Pulls enemies
  • All Out: This ability’s cooldown is reduced and no longer slows targets hit.
W - Path Maker
  • Begin Charging: K’Sante raises his weapons defensively for a short duration, becoming Unstoppable, and reducing incoming damage.
  • Release: K’Sante rams forward, dealing a percentage of max health physical damage, Knocking Back, and Stunning enemies he passes through for a short duration based on charge time.
  • All Out: This ability’s cooldown is refreshed, the damage reduction is increased, it deals an additional amount of physical damage based on charge time, and the charge and dash speed are doubled.
E - Footwork
  • K’Sante dashes, gaining a shield for a short duration. If dashing to an ally, the distance is significantly increased and they are also Shielded. Other spells can be cast during this ability.
  • All Out: This ability’s dash speed is increased. Dashing to a targeted location has increased range and can go over walls.
R - All Out
  • K’Sante shatters his ntofos, dealing physical damage and Knocking Back an enemy champion. Enemies that hit a wall will take a greater amount of physical damage, are Knocked Back over the wall, and are briefly Stunned. K’Sante then dashes after the enemy and goes All Out for an extended duration.
  • All Out K’sante loses a percentage of max health, bonus armor, and bonus magic resistance. K’Sante gains attack damage, omnivamp, and transforms his abilities.

K'Sante is going to shake up the meta as a tank that can also deal damage when he needs to. He's also the first black character part of the LGBTQIA+ community in League of Legends. Honestly, this champion will bring so much to the table.

Champion Adjustments, Buffs & Nerfs in LoL Patch 12.21

All Champion Buffs on LoL Patch 12.21

This will be the final patch where players can still play ranked, which means preseason is fast approaching. Therefore, the balance team is hard at work trying to make the Chemtech drake and jungle pets a reality and won't have too much time to buff your favorites.

These are all champions getting buffed in LoL Patch 12.21:

ChampionChanges in Patch 12.21
Xin ZhaoDetermination (P)
  • Third Hit Bonus Damage: 15/25/35/45% AD ⇒ 15/30/45/60% AD
  • Heal: 6-74 (based on level) (+10% AD) (+55% AP) ⇒ 6-74 (based on level) (+10% AD) (+65% AP)
Audacious Charge (E)
  • Cooldown: 12 seconds ⇒ 11 seconds
MalzaharMalefic Visions (E)
  • [NEW] Kill Confirmed: Malefic Visions will now execute minions below 15 - 45 health (levels 1-11)
CorkiBase Stats
  • Health Growth: 101 ⇒ 105
  • Attack Damage Growth: 2.5 ⇒ 2.8
AhriOrb of Deception (Q)
  • Mana Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 ⇒ 55/65/75/85/95
  • Damage per Pass Through: 40/65/90/115/140 (+40% AP) ⇒ 40/65/90/115/140 (+45% AP)

Rumble was also on the list of buffs this patch, but it seems like Riot has decided against them and the champion will be kept the same. Sorrz Rumble mains, but this Yordle won't be OP at the end of Season 12.

Ornn's ultimate will be receiving a buff that has already existed before, so technically there is no official change here, but Riot has felt the need to add it into the patch notes anyway. Ornn's ultimate has been bugged to always inflict a 60% slow, which is why Riot has decided to turn this bug into a feature this patch.

Call of the Forge God (R)Maximum Slow: 40/50/60% ⇒ 60% at all ranks

All Champion Nerfs on LoL Patch 12.21

There are even fewer champions getting nerfed this patch. These are all the champions Riot is nerfing in the upcoming League of Legends Patch 12.21:

ChampionsChanges in LoL Patch 12.21
Miss FortuneMake it Rain (E)
  • Magic Damage: 70/100/130/160/190 (+100% AP) ⇒ 70/100/130/160/190 (+120% AP)
  • Slow: 50% (+4% per 100 AP) ⇒ 40% (+6% per 100 AP)
Bullet Time (R)
  • Damage per Wave: 75% AD + 20% AP ⇒ 75% AD + 25% AP
BlitzcrankBase Stats
  • Base Health: 653 ⇒ 633
  • Base Magic Resist: 32 ⇒ 28

Overdrive (W)

  • Bonus Attack Speed: 40/53/66/79/92% ⇒ 30/43/56/69/82%
Bel'VethRoyal Maelstrom (E)
  • Cooldown: 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 ⇒ 24/22.5/21/19.5/18
Endless Banquet (R)
  • Void Remora Health: 50/60/70% ⇒ 40/50/60% of minion’s maximum health

After the Blitzcrank update in LoL Patch 12.19 the champion has been extremely strong in the bot lane. Riot made a few adjustments in LoL Patch 12.20, but these clearly weren't enough and the champion will receive more nerfs in LoL Patch 12.21.

Bel'Veth is just an insane jungler right now, at all levels of the game, so Riot will dial back some of her agency as well in the next patch.

New Empyrean Skins on LoL Patch 12.21

We're also getting a brand-new skin line in LoL Patch 12.21. Riot has revealed the Empyrean skins which will encompass eight champions in total and nine skins with K'Sante receiving a prestige skin right upon release. The skin was made in cooperation with recording artist Lil Nas X.

  • Empyrean K'Sante
    • Empyrean K'Sante Prestige Edition
  • Empyrean Jax
  • Empyrean Jhin
  • Empyrean Lux
  • Empyrean Pyke
  • Empyrean Vex
  • Empyrean Zac
  • Empyrean Zed

Pyke will also be receiving a legendary skin for this skin line and it looks incredible. He's already one of the more popular support champions thanks to his aggressive playstyle, but this skin will definitely sell well with the community.
