New Star Guardian skins, a new game mode and much more has hit the PBE server for League of Legends. But what about Nilah? How strong will she really be and just how broken is she going to be upon release? That's what we're going to check out.

Let's quickly go over everything we can expect in League of Legends Patch 12.13 and what is being tested out in the currently League of Legends PBE patch. Of course, you can also find feedback on the official LoL PBE Reddit page if you're curious about the community's opinion on everything.

Ultimate Spellbook Returns on PBE 12.13

The next rotating game mode has been revealed on the PBE server and it is going to be the Ultimate Spellbook game mode which Riot introduced in 2021 last year. It's turning 1-years-old, having been added to the servers along with the Sentinels of Light event.

So, if you enjoy the more casual side of League, then you can check out the Ultimat Spellbook mode which is going to go live in LoL Patch 12.13 along with the Star Guardians event, but is that truly the right move Riot? In 2017 players got to enjoy a unique Star Guardian event, which doesn't look to be making a comeback this year.

Master Yi Changes on PBE 12.13

Riot is also making some changes to a few champions in League of Legends, the most notable being a whole mini-rework to Master Yi's W. His auto-attack range has also been increased on the PBE server, as well as these changes to Meditate:

  • W - Meditate
    • Mana cost changed from 50 to 40 + 6% max mana per second
    • Now grants 60% tenacity for the first .5 seconds
    • Cooldown reduced from 28 seconds to 9

Divine Sunderer Changes on PBE

Riot had quick maintenance of the PBE server in which they added a few more changes. First Strike, Luden's Tempest and Anathema's Chains do not reveal anymore the caster, but Divine Sunderer was also put on the PBE server with a few changes.

These are the Divine Sunderer changes currently being tested on the PBE Server:

  • Mythic hybrid pen reduced from 5% to 3%
  • Sheen damage changed from 12%(9% ranged) max HP to 125% base AD + 6%(3% ranged) max HP
  • Healing increased from 50% pre-mitigation damage to 100%

Nilah Release in Patch 12.13

The biggest thing that will have an effect on your gameplay is probably going to be the release of Nilah. She is going to be a unique and new twist in the bot lane with her lack of range. But will she be fun to go up against? If she's anything like Yasuo, which she looks like, then probably not. Let's quickly check out her abilities.

AbilityEffect
Passive - Joy Ending Nilah amplifies the healing and shielding abilities of nearby allies. Allies that heal or shield Nilah gain a bonus heal or shield for themselves. And when an allied champion heals or shields themselves near Nilah, she gives herself a bonus heal or shield. If Nilah last hits an enemy minion, she and her nearest allied champion will gain the normal amount of shared experience, plus half of the experience that would have been lost due to sharing.
Q - Formless BladeActive: Nilah’s Formless Blade strikes in a line, damaging all enemies hit. Hitting an enemy will briefly increase Nilah’s attack range and attack speed and empower her basic attacks, causing them to splash in a cone and deal additional damage.

Passive: Attacks and ability damage against champions ignore some of their armor and heal Nilah for part of the damage dealt. This effect scales with crit chance and converts any excess healing into a shield.
W - Jubilant VeilNilah shrouds herself in a Jubilant Veil and briefly gains bonus move speed, takes reduced magic damage, and dodges all incoming basic attacks. Touching an ally champion hides them in the veil as well, but they’ll be protected for a shorter period.
E - SlipstreamSlipstream lets Nilah dash through a target unit, traveling a fixed distance every time and damaging all enemies she passes through. She can store up to 2 charges at once. Cast Formless Blade during Slipstream to pull a wave in your path, dealing damage after a quick delay and granting Formless Blade's enhanced basic attack effect.
R - ApotheosisNilah unleashes a surge of power, lashes her whip in an area around her and, with a final burst, pulls enemies in toward the center. Apotheosis heals Nilah for part of the damage dealt, converting any excess healing into a shield. This effect scales with crit chance and is granted to nearby allies.

Sivir Update on PBE 12.13

Sivir is also getting a mid-scope update which could make her a much better champion in the current meta. She's fallen off in recent times, having been overshadowed by champions like Aphelios, Zeri and Jhin. But will a mid-scope update be able to save her? It did wonders to Olaf,  Taliyah and Swain, so we are hopeful that these changes will land well with this bot laner as well.

Star Guardian Skins on PBE 12.13

We also know we are going to be getting some brand new Star Guardian skins, Nilah's release skin being part of the bunch. Not only that, but we get to find out who the biggest nemesis is that the Star Guardians have yet to face. Hopefully, the event is going to give us more information on the Star Guardian AU.

  • Star Guardian Kai'Sa
  • Star Guardian Ekko
  • Star Guardian Ekko Prestige
  • Star Guardian Nilah
  • Star Guardian Sona
  • Star Nemesis Fiddlesticks

But that's not all. We also know that in 12.14 more Star Guardian skins will be released, thanks to some icons on PBE that are also currently being tested. Taliyah, Quinn, Rell and more will also be on the receiving end of Star Guardian skins, which means that most of the leaks were right.
