Demacia Cup 2022: Livestream, Teams, Schedule & More

The 2022 Demacia Cup will kick off soon with the big LPL squads facing off against one another, with Independent LDL teams, as well as amateur teams, able to participate in the event. This is a great event before the start of the actual season to give fans insight into their teams. 

This year the off-season has been insane with star players from the LCK joining, while others left the region altogether to find their luck in other regions. So, let's go over the Demacia Cup 2022 and which teams we can expect to see.

Demacia Cup 2022: All Participating Teams 

Participating LDL and Amateur Teams

A total of sixteen LDL and Amateur teams have qualified for the 2022 Demacia Cup. They will be playing in a first stage made up of 4 Swiss rounds of best-of-one games. Swiss rounds mean that teams play a fixed number of games and those teams that didn't have enough wins fall off before moving onto the next round. 

Independent LDL Teams

The LDL is the minor league under the LPL where young players get to hone their craft before joining LPL teams or getting called up to the LPL major roster (if they are already on an academy team).

Seventeen LPL teams will be participating in the event, with the top four teams from the 2022 LPL Summer Split immediately making their way into the third stage of the event.

2022 Demacia Cup Schedule

The Demacia Cup will run from December 14, 2022 to December 27, 2022. The tournament is cut into three different stages with the first being the Swiss rounds, then normal elimination rounds before moving into the knockout stage.

Swiss Rounds Schedule

The first four Swiss rounds will take place between December 14, 2022 and December 17, 2022 with games every single day. The three best teams from the Swiss Rounds will be able to move onto the next round, while the remaining thirteen will be eliminated from the Demacia Cup. 

Second Round of Demacia Cup Schedule

The second round of the Demacia Cup will feature the three teams from the Swiss round along with 13 LPL teams. The top four teams of the 2022 LPL Summer Split do not need to participate in this part of the event. The final eight teams after the second round move onto the knockout stage of the Demacia Cup. Games in this round are also best-of-one.

The second round will kick off on December 18, 2022 and conclude on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Knockout Round of Demacia Cup Schedule

The quarterfinals of the 2022 Demacia Cup will take place between Wednesday, December 21, 2022 and December 24, 2022. The final four teams move onto the semifinals which will be held on December 25 and 26, 2022. The final of the Demacia Cup will be on December 27, 2022.

While this isn't the biggest event of the year, the Demacia Cup is always fun since it gives us something to watch over the holiday season. This usually gives good insights into the upcoming LPL season and how teams look together... granted without too much practice time together, but we love the LPL for their chaos.
