During the 2022 Summer Playoffs Evil Geniuses announced that their star bot laner Kyle "Danny" Sakamaki stepped back from his position to work on his mental health. This was outwardly encouraged by the org as they called up their academy bot laner to fill his spot.

In a recent stream by famous analyst and former LEC player Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont it was alleged that Danny was mistreated by the org and the management. Now Evil Geniuses CEO, Nicole LaPointe Jameson, has made a statement regarding these accusations.

EG CEO Speaks Up Amidst Abuse Allegations

On December 1, 2022 the CEO of Evil Geniuses sent out a Tweet labeled "An emotional morning at EG - a quick note on the LCS operational allegations." In this tweet she refuted the allegations stating that they were "disappointing and shocking".

According to the messages sent to Caedral by one of Danny's family members it was stated that the org hadn't been treating Danny right throughout the split. It was even alleged that EG fired a positional coach who had stood up for the bot laner and that Danny's mother is talking to the LCSPA (LCS Player Association).

Enough drama, we want to know about money, right?

Jameson was vague in her statement, explaining that due to HIPAA and other legal constraints she couldn't go into the details of what happened throughout the summer split, but she did express that these accusations come as a "shock and surprise".

She has also explained that Evil Geniuses has hired a third party council to investigate the team's operation. If there are any issues in the way the team has handled the situation or current situations then they will implement better practices to ensure a safe environment.

Evil Geniuses will not gloss over these accusations and is taking them very seriously. These accusations come as a complete shock to most fans who felt that EG, at least outwardly, handled Danny's situation well this summer and seemed very supportive of the young LCS star.
