League of Legends: LEC Finals 2023 Location Potentially Disclosed
The LEC will be chaging this around this season with splitting the whole thing into three splits, instead of two. We will also be getting a whole new ERL system and some other major changes. Only one final for the whole year instead of two as is usual.
So, where will the final take place and when will it be held?
LEC Finals 2023 To Be Held in France
The 2023 LEC Finals, which should take place sometime at the end of the Summer, crowning an overall LEC winner, will be held in Montpellier, France according to esports journalist Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger. His sources have said that the event will be heading to the coastal town right by the Mediterranean Sea.
This will be the first time since the 2019 League of Legends World Championship finals between G2 Esports and FunPlus Phoenix that a LoL esports event is going to be held in France again. French fans are known for their passion for LoL esports, making the LFL one of the most viewed leagues in the world, even competing with some of the major regions that make it to the World Championship each year.
LEC 2023 Format Changes Ahead
The format for the LEC will be changed this year, with the whole season being split into three splits, Winter, Spring and Summer, instead of the usual two that we've come to know. This new format will also include more best of three series which should get fans hyped.

- Each Split will start with a single, best-of-one round-robin. The top eight teams will move on to the group stage.
- The group stage will have a best-of-three double-elimination format, and the top four teams make it into the playoff stage.
- The playoff stage is the last stage of the split and will be played in a best-of-five format.
The finals of the LEC 2023 will be held in Montpellier so get ready to watch some insane LEC action. The winner of the event will be able to compete as the number one LEC seed at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, which has been leaked to come to South Korea.
