Worlds Patch!
LoL Patch Notes 12.18 | Fright Night Skins, MF Nerfs & More
The newest League of Legends patch includes pretty cool new spooky skins in one of the best skin lines of the year. But that is not all, of course there are a multitude of buffs and nerfs that have also hit the live servers.
LoL Patch 12.18 is the main patch of the year, and we're going to have to watch all of the Lol World Championship on this one single patch. Most of the big changes were already implemented in LoL Patch 12.17, so this time around we got only small changes and adjustments to the patch.
LoL Patch Notes 12.18 | All Balance Changes
This is going to be the patch for the League of Legends World Championship and most big changes were implemented in previous patches, which means this time around we're just getting slight adjustments to most of the champions on the list.
League of Legends Patch 12.18 Nerfs
Champion | Nerfs according to Patch Notes 12.18 |
Miss Fortune | Base Stats
|
Kalista | Base Stats
|
Hecarim | Base Stats
Spirit of Dread (W)
|
Rhaast (Kayn) | Reaping Slash (Q)
|
Lulu | Whimsy (W)
|
Nocturne | Base Stats
|
Lulu has been the key pick when Yuumi has been banned, which means that Riot is going to nerf her as well. There is no chance we will have an enchanter meta at Worlds, right?
League of Legends Patch 12.18 Buffs
Champion | Buffs according to Patch Notes 12.18 |
Ashe (Marksmen) | Ranger's Focus (Q)
|
Thresh | Baste Stats
Flay (E)
|
Lee Sin | Base Stats
Safeguard/Iron Will (W)
|
Ashe has seen more play in the support position than as an ADC, which is why Riot are going to buff her so she can see play in the position she is meant to be played in. Hopefully support Ashe stays viable though, because it's actually kind of fun.
Also note that ahead of the release of this patch we thought Nasus would be receiving some buffs, but unfortunately those have been taken off the table by Riot.
Adjustments In LoL Patch 12.18
Two champions saw big overhauls in Patch 12.17, as well as Patch 12.16. Maokai and Udyr will be receiving some adjustments. Udyr has been a great, especially as a damage dealing tank, so Riot might make some adjustments that will make him purchase items to actually deal damage.
Champion | Adjustments according to Patch Notes 12.18 |
Maokai (role adjustment) | Sap Magic (P)
Bramble Smash (Q)
Sappling Toss (E)
|
Udyr (build adjustment) | Base Stats
Wilding Claw (Q)
Iron Mantle (W)
Wingborne Storm (R)

Skins and Chromas for LoL Patch 12.18
Mythic Shop Rotation
It's already been three months since Ashen Knight Pantheon was added to the mythic shop and now it's time for this seasonal mythic to leave and make room for a new mythic skin. Ashen Slayer Sylas has been revealed to be the next Ashen Knight skin. Many fans are not happy about this skin, but that's a story for another article... this totally isn't shameless self-promotion, right?
New Worlds Skin Announced
With Patch 12.18 being the LoL World Championship patch, we're obviously also going to be getting a skin to celebrate the biggest event in League of Legends esports. This is going to be the tenth Championship/Worlds skin Riot releases, having started the trend in 2012.
- Worlds Azir
Azir is a great pick, since this is a champion that has been prominently played in the pro meta, with late game carried becoming ever prominent. He's also just an iconic World Championship champ if we're being honest.

Fright Night Skins Added to Patch 12.18
Riot is also revamping the gothic skin line and giving them a whole new look. While the first two skins on PBE aren't that popular, these ones have hit the mark. The skins look amazing, the champion choice is wonderful and the thematic is fresh and fun.
These are all the champions receiving Fright Night skins:
- Fright Night Annie
- Fright Night Renata Glasc
- Fright Night Trundle
- Fright Night Draven
- Fright Night Urgot
- Fright Night Nautilus
These skins are great and as we move into October work wonders. The art is so great and look incredible on these champions, even some of the older models. Overall, this is a great skin line that Riot has added into the mix.
Which champions do you want to see played at the League of Legends World Championship? If we see any Corki and Twisted Fate games I am for sure going to Riot and smashing some things, because we don't need these boring champions at Worlds, right? Right.
