Swain is getting a mid-scope update, Jinx is getting nerfect and Kai'Sa mid might have seen its final moments ahead of Patch 12.8. What else can we say about this patch, though?

Let's go over some of the biggest changes that will have an impact on our games in the coming weeks. This is the Mid-Season Invitational Patch and has many pro-game focused changes, but they'll still change the way our games go, especially for some champions that have been OP for far too long. Let's check it out!

AP Kai'Sa Adjustments

AP Kai'Sa has been pretty strong recently, especially if players want to merely spam her W from afar. So, Riot is taking some AP power from her W and making sure players play around her passive. So let's check out what changes Riot has made to Kai'Sa in Patch 12.8.

Stopwatch Changes in Patch 12.8

Stopwatch is one of the best items in the game and even if you've got items like Zhonya's Hourglass and Guardian Angel having a stopwatch in your back pocket could be great to have in fights. Sadly, this won't be an option anymore in Patch 12.8 with Riot making changes accordingly.

As of Patch 12.8 you won't be able to purchase Stopwatch anymore if you already own Guardian Angel or Zhonya's. Does this make League more fun or less fun?

Poppy Improvements in Patch 12.8

Poppy is getting some love just ahead of MSI 2022. So expect to see her in the jungle to thwart those annoying champions with endless dashes. Her W cooldown has been lowered and her ultimate also received some love.

Poppy Ultimate Changes:

Uncharged Knock Up Duration 0.75 seconds ⇒ 1 second
Charged Missile Speed 2000 ⇒ 2500
Charged Knock Back Distance 2400 ⇒ 3400
Cooldown refund upon cancelled charge 30 seconds ⇒ 15 seconds

Swain Mid-Scope Update

The biggest change of this patch is probably the Swain update which is hitting the rift in this patch. All of his abilities have been looked over and adjusted to fit into 2022 and make him actually feel like a grand general.

He gained multiple mana buffs and changes to his crowd control and even though he can't pull in CC'd enemies anymore, he can now use his E to pull in anyone. Pretty scary, eh? But let's check out every change Riot made to his abilities.

Those are some pretty big changes, eh? Taliyah and Olaf are also currently getting mid-scope updates, so be prepared for those to hit the rift in League of Legends Patch 12.9.

Skins Released in Patch 12.8

Eclipse Skins

This League of Legends Patch will also bring some new skins to the rift as is normal. This time we're going back to the Coven universe, but not to check out Coven skins or Elderwood skins, but to get more Eclipse skins.

Those are all the Eclipse skins we're getting this patch. Make sure to check out the upcoming EDG skins, as well as the High Noon skins, Riot has planned for League of Legends Patch 12.9.

Yasuo and Gangplank Skins

Of course, we can't forget the two skins from Ruined King: A League of Legends Story either. Both Yasuo and Gangplank who were featured in the game got new skins as well.
