GIRLGAMER Esports Festival Hosts All-Female LOL World Finals

The female League of Legends World Championship is currently happening at the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival in Bahrain. But who is competing, and what is at stake? Here is everything you need to know about the ongoing LOL World Championship.

The GIRLGAMER World Finals in Bahrain have already started, and we are excited to see who will bring the trophy home. At the tournament, you will be able to see some of the best female teams from all corners of the world compete against each other.

Even though the event is not that big yet, it gives women a platform to show off their skills and inspire the younger audience to follow a similar path, making the gaming community more open to everyone, regardless of their gender. You can watch the tournament on GIRLGAMER's official TWITCH!

GIRLGAMER LOL: Teams

We have a total of five teams competing in the GIRLGAMER League of Legends Event from all around the world. Here is a list of all the teams competing: 

  • Rise Gaming (Brazilian champions)
  • Kingnigasta (Asian champions)
  • Galaxy Racer (Middle Eastern champions)
  • ATK Valkyrie (Subsaharan African champions)
  • G2 Hel (European champions)

Suppose you haven't looked much into the female championship. Some of these names might be unknown to you. So here is a brief introduction to the top-three contenders in the tournament.

Kingnigasta

Kingasta (King) is one of the favorite teams going into the tournament. According to Rigas from Medium, they qualified for the tournament by winning the GIRLGAMER event in Daejeon, South Korea. One of the biggest stars in their roster is LCK Academy player DangMoo, who is currently the substitute support for Liiv SANDBOX Youth. Their average rank is Diamond 1 on the Korean server.

G2 Hel

G2 Hel is the leading representative from Europe. The team recently became the champions of the Rising Stars European Championship and is stacked up with some of the best female players in Europe. 

One of their biggest strength is their ADC Maya "Caltys" Henckel, an avid Twitch enjoyed who peaked Challenger in Season 12. Their average rank is Master on the EUW server.

Rise Gaming

Rise Gaming are the Brazillian representatives attending the tournament. They qualified for the championship by winning the GIRLGAMER tournament in Sao Paolo. Their average rank is Master on the Brazilian server. 

GIRLGAMER LOL: Format

Because the tournament is still reasonably small, the format primarily consists of BO1s. Only the lower bracket final will be a BO3, and the grand final is the only BO5 in the tournament.  Who do you think will make it to the top of the standings?
