Let's go!
LEC Spring Split 2023: Schedule, Standings, Teams & More
The LEC just finished its first Winter Split in its history, and we turn our heads toward Spring. Last Split, we saw G2 Esports once again make it to the top of the throne and be the first champions of the LEC Winter Split. But who will be the champions of Spring? Here is everything you need to know about the LEC Spring Split 2023.
With the new format this year, it is good to have an overview of the changes that came with implementing the new EMEA system. It is, therefore, great that you have landed here because we will give you all the information you might need to prepare for the second Split of the LEC 2023.
LEC Spring Split 2023: Format
If you didn't drop in for the LEC Winter Split, the new LEC format might be unknown to you. To explain everything down to the tiniest detail would probably be a tad too excessive, so instead, we will give you a quick Rundown.
The League of Legends EMEA Championship now consists of three splits - the Winter, Spring, and Summer Split, and it all finishes with the LEC Season Finals. But for now, let's stay with the Spring Split.
The Spring Split is divided into three consecutive stages. In Stage 1, all ten teams compete against each other in a Bo1 format (Single Round Robin), where the top eight teams continue onto the next stage.

In Stage 2 or in the "Spring Groups," the top eight teams from the first stage compete in a new Double-Elimination, Bo3 format.
Finally, the Spring Split Stage 3 is the final stage of the Split. In Stage 3 (the Spring Playoffs), the top four teams from Stage 2 will compete in a Bo5, Double elimination format. The one winning the LEC Spring Split immediately secures a spot in the LEC Season Finals, which occurs at the end of the 2023 Season.
LEC Spring Split 2023: Team-Rosters
With the new format, we will likely see way more roster changes in EMEA than we are used to. Even though most of the teams decided to stick with their roster from the LEC Winter Split 2023, we did see some changes happening before Spring, the biggest one being the return of Upset and the departure of Wunder from Fnatic after their horrible results in Winter.
But let's not ponder about the past but rather look at the new (and improved?) rosters, shall we?

Some well-known faces are still missing. Wunder is still under contract with Fnatic, so it will be interesting to see if he will return from the bench if everything falls apart for the team. Also, Gillius is still taking a break from the LEC. Maybe he will be back for Summer?
LEC Spring Split 2023: Standings
The LEC Spring Split has begun, and we are excited to see who will make it to the top of the standings in the first stage. As already mentioned, Stage 1 of the Spring Split will be considerably shorter this year, which means it is even more crucial than before to have an overview of the current standings to stay on track. At the end of Group 1, the top-eight teams qualify for the Spring Groups.
