League of Legends: How to Play Milio
The new League of Legends Champion Milio just got released and we are here to help you along the way to becoming the best Milio player on the server by giving you an extensive guide on how to play the enchanter support.
Milio hit live servers yesterday. The fire boy from Ixtal was designed to have a fairly simple kit, easy for beginners to learn. But to up your game to the next level, we are here to tell you everything you need to know to play Milio.
Milio is an enchanter support. Now, don't let his charming looks fool you! Even though Milio might look harmless at first glance, he can transform any ADC into a killing machine.
Milio's kit is mainly focused on strengthening and protecting his allies from danger, making him a great enchanter. By himself, Milio is not that strong, but with his friends by his side, his large range, and his passive, he will dominate the Rift in no time!
League of Legends: Milio Abilities
To play Milio, the first step is, of course, to know what his abilities do. Even though you might initially think Milio deals tons of damage with his fire elemental abilities, Milio rather uses his fire magic to heal and protect his allies.
Here is a quick rundown of his abilities:
Passive - Fired Up
Milio's abilities enchant their allies on touch, giving them an additional burst of damage and burn on their next attack or spell.
Q - Ultra Mega Fire Kick
Milio's W creates an empowering sone that increases the Attack Range and heals the allies within the zone. The zone follows the ally nearest to the point where the ability was cast.
E - Warm Hugs
Milio shields an ally, increasing their movement speed temporarily.
R - Breath of Life
Milio's ultimate releases a "wave of soothing flames," healing and removing all crowd control effects from the allies in range. This ultimate will be great against champions like Leona or Amumu!
League of Legends Guide: Best Milio Build
Best Runes on Milio
As usual with enchanters, Sorcery with Summon Aery is a great option on Milio. Summon Aery gives champions the opportunity to harass their opponents as well as protect their allies. With his long-range Q and the additional damage of the rune, you will offer a great poke, allowing you to get some good trades with the enemy bot lane in the early stages of the game.
- Look adorable when you play with the Razer Kraken Kitty Headset!
Another option, if you don't want to play Sorcery, is Resolve. This is especially good when you want to offer that extra protection for your AD Carry. These runes are a great option, giving you some tenacity and enhancing your shielding and healing.
Milio Summoner Spells
Usually, we would recommend going Flash and Exhaust as Milio, but Ignite is also a valid option if you are looking to be a bit more aggressive. Just remember to keep your Flash and potentially swap out your Exhaust and not the other way around.
Milio Guide: Which Abilities To Level
Knowing what ability to level first can be tricky. With Milio, we recommend opening with his Q, then E, and finally W. You should first max Q, then his W, and lastly his E.
- First: Q > E > W
- Max: Q > W > E
Best Items on Milio
Of course, builds often depend on the enemy and your own team composition. However, there are some items that are good on Milio no matter the teams. Here is a universal build focusing on strengthening your shielding and healing as well as giving you some much-needed ability haste.
- Moonstone Renewer / Shurelya's Battlesong
- Chemtech Putrifier
- Ardent Censer
- Mikael's Blessing
- Redemption
Boots: Ionian Boots of Lucidity
League of Legends Guide: Milio Counters
Of course, every champion comes with some weaknesses, and so does Milio. The fire enchanter from Ixtal isn't particularly tanky and thrives when he can poke his enemies from a safe distance. Here are some champions that can be tricky when you want to play Milio:
Blitzcrank
As already mentioned, Milio does best when he is not in the middle of the enemy team. It is needless to say that one good grab from this steam golem is bad news for the little fire boy.

Pyke
Pyke is also a big threat to Milio. Pyke offers a lot of burst and has the potential to easily one-shot the poor little enchanter.
League of Legends Guide: Milio Is Good Against
Milio's Ultimate is something we haven't really had in the game before and is a great counter to champions with lots of Crowd Control. Here are some champions that won't be happy to see Milio on the enemy team.
Amumu
Amumu's ultimate is nothing against Milio. If Milio avoids getting hit by Amumu's R, he can easily unleash his allies with his own ultimate, allowing them to continue the fight.
Seraphine
Similar to Amumu, Seraphine has an ultimate that can turn the whole fight around. As long as Milio manages to avoid Seraphine's ultimate, he can remove the CC on his allies with just one button click.
Milio's burn also counters Seraphine's healing, making him an ideal pick against her in the bot lane.
And there you have it - everything you need to know before playing the new enchanter support, Milio! Do you like the new champion?
